I too would want to know if the warranty terms on MC5. I have been hearing some feedback on MC5 from the owners, however I have a check box for unconditional warranty on my list. If the terms are acceptable, I guess I know what my car would be wearing in the next change.
I agree, unconditional warranty is always preferred though not many manufacturers give this warranty.
With my experience with various tyre manufacturers except Apollo no other manufacturers had given me any type of claim compensation. The dealers play a major role in this process of warranty claim. If he feels he can get you some compensation.
The major problem I have faced is a side wall bubble or some kind of side wall damage. This usually happens when you hit a pot hole at high speeds or scrape the tyres on something. And both of these cases can never be proved as a manufacturing defect. In my last 12 years & 7/8 sets of tyres I have not found any other issues with the tyres.
MC5 also has warranty against manufacturing defect only. However they are priced low as compared to 3ST, Hence opted for MC5.
@kirenh, If possible, please post the Treadwear, Traction Temperature ratings & ply composition mentioned on the sidewall of your CMC5.
Just for comparison,I am posting a pic of 195/60R15 P3ST ratings
Treadwear 340,Traction A, Temp A
Hi, Attaching as what ever I had others will send tomorrow
Well, that's equal to Michelin 3 PST according to USA laws. And MC5 being asymmetrical, have clear cut advantage during hard cornering over 3 PST.
Please check for 'encircled E 'markings also.
Well they are registered with the Netherlands (E4)branch of European Commission for Environment. but seems have not applied for Sound (noise) & Wet grip test conducted there.
Conticomfortcontact 5 have stronger(more tensile strength) tread due to one additional polyamide layer as compared to Michelin PST.
Sidewalls of both tyres have same tensile strength as both have 2 plies of polyester.
Edit : of late, I found 3 PST are also asymmetrical hence similar to MC5 for hard cornering.
I purchased, PST for my car recently, buying experience here http://www.teamfiat.com/posts/841961206/
