Pollution Certificate - Which shop in your city??
Starting of this thread because my Punto is 1 year old now and it required pollution check certificate.

I am interested for Bangalore, which is the preferred place to do it?
Please share this information for your cities also.

Does it really matter which shop you get it from? For my previous car and bikes, I used the one closest to my office or home purely based on convenience. It was perfect because the results anyway will be well below the limits prescribed.
But I have seen owners of old and poorly maintained vehicles searching for :mischievous *specific* shops where they can be *assured* of a reading within the specification limits.
Since our vehicles are new we don't need to search for insensitive or poorly calibrated equipment to check the pollution

The PUC is just a formality for the traffic police. you just need to pay those guys 50-70 bucks depending on the charge and he will write the values himself.
What he sticks in the tailpipe is just to show that he is "checking" the pollution if some authoritarian comes to check.. (which happens on most of the centre's :hit )

Actually it should be mandatory to those 10-20 yrs old cars...!!
    Without a service history!!

just as Chaos said it's a formality in India .. I had a UNO Diesel previously and those guys did not even have UNO values .. he used to manually overide and put some values in there

    PUC issuing shops In Panchkula:

    Petrol pump Sec-16:
Charges more because he clicks photo of the number plate with his web-cam.

    Petrol pump, Sec-8:
charge depend upon type of car(petrol, diesel) and whether owner wants photo of no. plate or not.

For my Karizma, they charge Rs15. Validity: 6Months.

    In Chandigarh:

Petrol pump in Sec-21 issues PUC certificates. There may be many other such petrol stations offering PUCs.

I got it done last weekend, on Old Airport Road, Bangalore, in IOC petrol bunk.
Even they didn't havd Punto in their system and it took quite handful of time to figure out how to test. But they did it finally.
    Rs. 65/-

In Goa there is one on airport road(2 kms before). Left side while going towards airport from verna. I paid Rs 100 recently for certificate.
In my certificate only co2 level is mentioned. No CO, NO etc. Is it same with other places?
