    Hi Guys,

I have been travelling a lot and most of the hotels I endup with have a wired internet connection. I was wondering if someone has any experience with any of the pocket Routers like D-Link DWL-G730AP http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=346

This is not an ideal solution, but at home, since I have two laptops, I used to run 'Connectify' or 'Virtual Wi-fi router' in one which is connected to wired net and access internet in the other wireless.

Check out this nice little app for making your window 7 laptop a Wifi hotspot.

EDIT: You don't need such an app to share internet from PC to PC since you can always create and Ad-Hoc network. This app comes in handy when you want to connect other devices also, like your Android phone for example.

Regarding the pocket router you have mentioned, you can go ahead and buy it with eyes closed, since you have the need.

How much is this costing you ? Does it run on electricity or have battery
If it is more than 2k I would suggest you to buy a regular Router.
You can easily carry regular router in your luggage they have better range + more reliable + cheaper. You could get one just a little above 1k. I would suggest Linksys or Belkin (Not as good as linksys but have lifetime warranty)

Even i prefer a standalone router. We have a netgear one bought some 4 years back run 24x7 and still working good. Routers are pretty small and can fit in your luggage quite easily.
