Planning to buy palio stile multijet 1.3 sdx

Hi All,

I'm planning to buy the Palio stile multijet 1.3 sdx. I'm from madurai. I have heard about the temperature clocking often and acceleration sensor issue. The owner of the car is saying that he haven't faced those issues and we can use maruthi swift spare parts as it has similar engine type.

My brother-in-law used Palio D 2005 model in that we have faced the above mentioned issue and car was often in the mechanic shop. Can anyone suggest, is that the right time to buy this car? Any good Fiat mechanic in madurai? Can I get any current Palio stile users in madurai? It'll be helpful for easy accessible on local mechanic and discussing issues?

Swift is using the MJD 1.3 engine. Also Tata Indica Vista, Chevrolet Sail and others too. Engine parts may be similar.
But, are they similar to accelerator sensor? You may better ask your FNG or Fiat service.

Those issues you mentioned are not usually found in a 1.3 Multi-jet engine. If that is the only thing you are concerned about, you are pretty much good to go.
On the contrary, you do have other things that you need to be worried about while going for a used Palio. Spare parts like Bumpers, Headlamps, and Tail lamps are more expensive compared to the older palio. Also the Air intake assembly of the Palio stile has lots of leaks from where dust can enter into the air intake system. A through clean of the entire air intake system is recommended and replacing the oil air filter assembly is a must. keeping the age of the car in mind, the turbo hose pipes will have minor cracks, they might need replacement. Check for the brakes effectiveness. brake boosters for Palio are not available anymore.
