Sorry for going OT. This is going to be my Linea's next mega trip. Can my Linea do it in mid-October? I am thinking of going from Shimla to Kunzam La and return back in the same route as I understand the road from Batal to Gramphoo and Rohtang Pass are not Linea-friendly. Please advise.
J RAVI sir, the road from Gramphoo to Batal is really bad.A few years back we were forced to comeback from BATAL(We were from UDAYPUR to KAZA) due to bad weather. Our Mahindra Max was badly stuck in some slush and we had to push it through after clearing some rocks.I cannot elaborate the experience indetails here but that was some experience I will remember forever. It was first week of september.
We trvelled to Leh in the same time of the year(Before that tour),took Manali-Leh route and the weather was exceptionally good.
There is a good PWD resthouse at KOKSAR(where we spent a night on the day of that unforgettable experience)with 'on the spot' booking facility----if you need to stay there.
Welcome J Ravi sir.Would love to meet you when you come to shimla.
You will love this circuit. This journey can be taken in Mid october but you have to carry all your jackets and woolens as it becomes really cold in nights .
Since I have gone through all of your travelogues, I know that it is going to be easy for you.It is a fact that the road from Batal to Gramphoo is not at all linea friendly. I am posting few pictures below of this so call ROAD.
Thanks, sandipan_r15, for kind advice and suggestions.
Thanks a lot, rajankamboj. Hope, it will be easy for my Linea too.
The recent rains has tempted me to take some snaps of raindrops.
Lovely pics Cinju. Thanks for sharing. Which camera / lens? Would be great if you can share the EXIF details.
