A seeming-production-version of the high-power, QV version of the 'Giulia' Alfa Romeo sedan to be unveiled tomorrow in Milan. Looking very compelling!

This Alfa Romeo is the first of 6-8 by 2018, Marchionne says.

They will NOT be exotoc/niche cars, like Maserati and Ferrari are, they will be mainstream-sporty-luxury competitors to Mercedes, BMW and Audi.

They will be, just like Jeep already is being, pushed on an un-precedented for Fiat or Alfa Romeo scale...all over the world, especially the US, Canada, the Middle East and China+Australia+Japan.

Surely, India too, via Jeep showromms and dealers?? Maybe...in 2018 or later.

A pic leaked out before the official launch tomorrow !! rear looks a lot like Maserati MC Stradale, with the trademark alfa telephone dial alloys, slightly staggered !! Way better looking than its competitors it ll be facing and obviously a new powerplant, heard its gonna be a 3.0L, producing some insane power, not sure !!

Intriguing design idea: a kind of rounded-ness, un-edge-ness, hints of a bulges/swells...but then the head and taillamps are quite angular, more 'linear'-ity there.

Front bumper is along the lines of the Giulietta and the 4C but they've gone with a leaner headlamp, inspired it would seem by the giulietta's tail-lamps?

Long bonnett, short backside, still: very 3-box, if curvy, NOT coupe-ish. Very thick and curved/rounded haunches+c-pillar: give an athletic i.e., rear-wheel-drive look even without any flaring of the rear wheel arches.

A little too athletic and sporty-car a design IMO, rather than out-and-out sensuous, sensual charm or elegance, but then the brand is Alfa Romeo so that is to be expected.

The engines are going to be equally THE thing about this model.

Worlds Most Beautiful Sedan IMO. No wonder Top Gear test driver is praising Alfa Romeos.

@prabhot : :finger: Allow me to intrude and stop you right here. Don't go about dissecting the Alfa. Don't look at the front, pillars and boot in isolation. Look at it as a whole as this is a car that is designed starting with a wholistic view. For those of you who haven't seen this ad, let me take a chance and say that this is how an ad should be. This is what Italian design is all about.

The 4C is brazenly plagiarized. After what you may ask?! Really? Copied? Yes, it is copied after the creation that we all call a "woman". The car is so sensual and so beautifully designed that it should not be ever released in India. Our extremely conservative mindset here will end up banning the car as erotica. But that is what Italians are about. Experimenting. And pulling it off.

The Guilia will face similar discrimination in India. Very few will buy it because they will not have the guts to be seen driving it.

Long story short. Simply gutsy design. But it doesn't beat the 4C. If you haven't viewed the ad above, please view it. It is breathtakingly well made. And the front of the 4C is so suggestive that you need to really have to admire the designers as they got it perfectly right. Cheers guys.

    Thank for sharing.
And i truly believe, the 4C is the most....actually forget it!! No words can describe the way that car looks.
To my eyes, possibly, the most beautiful car ever made!

    1. Most beautiful and also aggressive rear ever !!! (No biased comments here)
    2. Lovely wheels, beautiful looking air scoops.
    3. Kind of signature front looks but very aggressive, with all the LED's.

Over all an awesome exterior design, Yet to see interiors, i am sure we will have less electronics compared to rivals as guessed by Top Gear.

The Giulia's interior is a triumph: notice the resonance of the same circular shape repeating in different sizes and inflections, the proportions of parts to other parts and to the whole.....managing to look ornate and effortlessly minimalist at the same time! The chic-ness and circular thematics of a Fiat 500 with....the taut, muscularity of a Ferrari interior: audacious, and easy-seeming. Not trying hard, and yet sostrong and striking.

Notable for how few buttons there are. The circular 'theme' is resonantly combined with a horizontal flatness of the central gear shifter tunnel....puts the German cars, esp the awfully button-heavy BMW and the tawdry-blingy new Mercedes to utter, inept, eclipse, imo.

I feel the exterior, unlike the interior, design is more 'Italian-American/muscle' than pure 'Italian'.

PS: Harald wester, Alfa and Maserati ceo (and possible successor to Marchionne as overall boss of all of FCA) has said that even non-hyper-sports (QV/Cloverleaf) versions of the car will have a carbon-fibre prop shaft, and aluminium doors, hood and suspensions, etc, making EVEN them, most likely, the best power-to-weight rwd sedans of their respective sub-segments.

PPS: Am liking the Indian prospects of Jeep (soon) and Alfa (post 2018?) very very much. Methinks FCA should just merge the Fiat brand cars in India back into Tata, hopefully as part of a larger global tie-up between tata motors and fca, leave the mass market to the tata brand (made by their jv of course, mostly with fca technology from robots in the factory to engines and transmissions...) and focus exclusively on (CKD and/or localized for exports too) jeep+alfa+abarth+perhaps the (CKD) 500 and 500X. i.e., ONLY premium, saports and luxury cars.
