This is a car that is meant first and last for Brazil+Argentina+, also, Mexico: the first two of which have automtoive tastes that are a good deal more 'sporting=masculine' in engineering as well as design, 'mature market-like', i.e., european-at-lower-prices. The car seems smashing in bright colours: the 'sculptural' design idiom, and skinning shows up well. And the interiors are imo a knockout along those premiumized-sporting aesthetics lines (3D, 3 seperate layers, colour right on the dash etc.) Clearly segment leading in Latam. And arguably very fine even by european b-segment-hatch standards. There is next to no chance of the Argo ever making it to India, imo. Even if they look beyond the Jeeps, in India say post-2020: it will be with the X6u crossover version of the Argo, the FIAT twin of the Jeep 'project 515' b-suv that remains likely for India. Reviving the FIAT brand in India will, if it is to happen in India at all, entail imo a non-mass-market approach: 500X and/or 500L + this x6u-Argo-restyled-and-re-engineered-as-crossover. And that, in turn, will require rhd export volumes for Indian FIATs. And that is the rub, isn't it? imo there simply is not much demand at all for rhd FIATs around the 'commonwealth' world+Japan, other than one or three made-in-europe-or-turkey-or-poland-or serbia models, and fully euro-spec.
