That's a rough ~20k premium over the 90hp and ~60k premium over the Emotion Multijet.

In the lower variants, Punto is still and will always be the best VFM option. Once the new feature lists come out, then we'll see side by side ( or have the feature lists come out? I'm not a member of any other car forum). The base i20d is 5.96! There will have to be some serious kit in there to justify this price for the base model.

To counter this top end i20 D , a refreshed 90hp needs to be unleashed :).

NOT a segment first. Punto has had this from day one.

I think the I20 D sportz variant is a strong competition for 90HP feature wise. Hope they have done something about the handling part as well.

Agreed about these mouth watering features, but what if any of these go Kaput?? As Hyundai is very bad in diagnosing problems esp sensors works, engines etc and a chalta hai job will really piss off a owner owning a costly hatch like this!!

Herbie, in which City the i20 CRDI Asta costs 7.03? T-BHP says that it is 7.44L.

    Face-lifted Hyundai i20 "i-Gen" launched @ 4.73 lakhs - Team-BHP

Note:- If ex-showroom delhi is 7.44L, then it will be around 7.6L in Chennai. With all taxes, i20 CRDI Asta without any discounts will cost 9L in Chennai. Where as the mighty 90HP is available for 8L in Chennai after all the discounts.

T-BHP has derived the pricing chart from this source below... ( not sure...just my guess ;) )

Hyundai is always known to spruce up their cars and these features have always proven to be their selling points.

But a real driver is not so much concerned about cosmetics, as he is about the handling, braking, steering and driving dynamics of any car.

E.g. Look at Fluidic Verna. When it was launched, it had class/segment leading features. However, one drive and you will realize how utterly pathetic the EPS is. I rejected it purely on the grounds of worst steering feedback ever!

Fiat has got it's basics right viz driving, handling & braking. Beyond that, whatever it provides me is an added bonus. Frankly, Hyundai is just providing stuff as OEM what you can easily get as after market. So for an intelligent car buyer, this is hardly a deal breaker!
