Just came across the coverstory of Fiat Uno in Auto Bild Latest edition - Jun'2010

New Fiat Uno shall be launched in India by the Year End

This will replace Palio (Palio not being upgraded to BS IV adds credibility to this news)

The Uno will be priced at around Rs. 3.50 Lacs ex-showroom, a much needed car Fiat needs in that segment

Another all-new city car shall be launched by Fiat, by 2013, whch will compete with the likes of Alto and will be priced at Rs. 2.5 Lacs, ex-showroom

Uno design is a tall-boy design with a height of 1,480mm & length of 3,770 mm. It comes with body-color bumpers, AC, Power Windows, Central Locking, Music Player, USB connectivity et al. It'll have a 280-ltr boot expandable with folding seats.

Uno will be powered with 75bhp 1-litre FIRE engine. Fiat claims this mill can propel Uno from 0 to 100 kmph in 14.7 sec & to a top speed of 151 kmph. 1.4 litre engine may also in the offing but doubtful for India.

    Few pics from the mag

In the looks department, I feel the old FIAT UNO looks way better...
    The boxy look... :)

But the interiors look modern a much needed upgrade.. acceptable.

It does not follow the classical(sexy) FIAT designs we have seen so far in India. But, it looks rugged, more like a Mini-Adventure. Let's see how it looks in real.

    The Car Looks Decent..!!

FIAT should NOT name it as UNO, as the name carries a baggage of the other sorts. They should name it differently as well as a VFM pricing, it can be a good competition to the Wagon-R.

If its a replacement of Palio, thumbs-down from my side. Palio still looks so good.

    Ugly!

Compare it to the Punto, or the Linea.
Looks like the evil sister of cinderalla...

@ Rs. 3.5lacs, its a good deal. Sure it doesn't look 'good' as per Fiat's standards but definitely looks better then its Japanese/Korean competitors in its expected segment. I liked the Red & Black combination
