People crib about Tata ASS. But at least Tata SC's dont put in duplicate parts in the car !!

And Fabia has a history of breaking down when you are in the middle of nowhere.

Keeping all that in mind I think Fabia might not have much of an impact on Punto sales.

Won't Fabia and Polo have the same engines btw ?

FABIA is a failed product, can not be revived even if the product is good, people in our country never give a second chance.
The price of the car may be cheap, but if you total the costs of spares, you can buy 2 fabias!
Skoda cars have been the least reliable among the cars we have in India
Besides when POLO is doing good would people buy another car from the same stable??

But looking at the number of Skodas on road, I don't think people know about it or find it to be high on maintenance cost.
BTW, Amogh, you have been an Octavia owner. Did you find it to be having insane spare parts.

Actually, a friend of mine once told me the price of the ORVM assembly. I can not dare to write that insane amount here(much higher than 10k). ::OO Does anyone know if this is true?

To tell you the truth : I was the HAPPIEST Skoda owner on this earth. To date : with all due respect to Punto : I still maintain that the Octy IS the best car I have driven and we have owned (in the family) till date.

Never charged with inflated service bills
Not a single part replaced / failed
    Only regular routine service
Never let us down in the middle of the road

Even after 100,000 kms : the car was running like new

And resale value that we got was just brilliant !!

Given a choice : I will still go and buy the Octavia 1.9 TDi L&K
