whats the material used for the carpet ?
It is rexine/art leather and fixed to the base factory carpet using Velcro.
OT: Thambi is the nickname for my drive. My name,Narayanan.
It looks very nice, how much did you paid?
Paid Rs. 1800 for carpet, thanks again Ganges. It took around four hours to fix the carpet and seat covers. These are custom made by a dealer here, said it has to be stitched a day prior to installation. It covers all the way to up to the back seat.
Consumption and other statistics during my recent Pune Bangalore drive
Happy with performance of Thambi Punto :up:car with 100% AC on.
Nearing 10k! Try to pen down your observation for this entire duration
I would like to pen down the experience, however, my writing skills are not that great though. Shall try to do it some time down the lane.
For now yes 10300 kms completed, though I missed to capture the milestone pictures. One more incident, due to my ignorance "thambi" got 6 minor scratches on the right side rear quater panel. I visited Trends Automobiles, bangalore today morning and they said may need to paint the entire panel.
I was searching for touch up paint to try a DIY and found this
Aeroaids Corporation - Com-Paint Touchup Spray Paint, Aerosol Spray Paint Manufacturers
However, the color available is BNW whereas my punto color NPW. Shall try to share the pics of scratches by evening, however, would like to get any opinion of others on color difference in BNW and NPW and the product as well.
Here are pics.
Floor covering with PU is a good idea. But be careful regarding AC pipe leaking issue into the driver foot area. Can the PU on the floor survive with the Shoe hit or you are putting a cover on it.
The resin on the floor is removable at any point of time, since, it has velcro fitted on the reverse side. I am using floor Matt above the resin carpet on the floor, so the damage to the resin is negated. The main reason was cleaning the floor has been a breeze (using moist cloth) since they have been installed.
I am ok if they last for atleast two years, however, my guess is it would definitely last longer.
Any suggestions for the scratch removal? Thanks
