My White Fang running report : Trip Blore to yellapura

Journey from Blore to Yellapur
it was a long journey. At the last toll on the hubli highway, the guy asked us to follow a bus which was enroute to yellapura. This was the sirsi route. Oh man what a route. It was single lane road(you can see this from the pics in this post). The route is very good with lots of ghat roads, but you can easily get lost if you are driving in the night. There are no sign boards and we had to rely on the localites at every junction. This delayed the journey. We had left at 8.15 AM from home and by the time we reached yellapura it was evening around 5 PM. We had stopped for a quick lunch which took almost 1.5 hrs.

Yellapura to Blore.
We took the other sirsi highway which leads to hubli. But you don't need to go to hubli, there is a diversion to take to the blore highway. Man this road is what I will call as a driver's delight. Lots of ghat roads, swirls and turns. The total distance to hubli diversion and the first toll gate on the highway was around 126 kms and it took me 1.5 hrs to reach. That is when i realized what a mistake i had done when coming from blore. I should have taken this sirsi highway and i would have saved at least 3 hrs of journey. The average speed display showed me 90 kmph.

The route from this toll gate was as usual with lots of diversion. Had a nice time chasing an Alto . I was cruising around 120 and I see an Alto trying hard to overtake me. Seeing his desperation I let him pass. Then what happens he zooms past me and then starts blocking my path. This is where I got pissed off. I said to myself, comon dude, either you leave way for me or just drive away.. but no he wants to play hide and seek with me .. I decide to check how well the linea can perform above 120 kmph speed.. I start chasing him sorry tailgate him.. The Alto then pulls forward to 130 kmph and I dont let him go.. I give him signal to make way or pull ahead.. he tries to pull away and reaches 140 speed.. and what does he see in his rear view mirror.. i am there still at his back giving him a hard time.. The Alto just wouldn't want go any faster and the driver realizes this and starts to pull aside.. and now I floor the accelerator and the linea comes alive from 140 kmph ... woooooooo.. i cross 150 and what do i notice.. the car has some swaying problem.. hmm i think to myself.. may be the wheel alignment is not done properly, so i cut down my speed to 130 -140.. We reach somewhere near hiriyur and decide to have dinner.. nah.. i am not going to have lunch or dinner at this place next time.. This is a hotel somewhere next to the hiriyur flyover.

Get a call from Mom asking what time I would reach blore.. I say somewhere around 11:30 and mom advices if there is a delay, halt at any of the hotels and leave the next day morning.. .I say what the heck, I have a morning meeting and I dont want to miss it.. I tell Mom nothing to worry and will reach blore before midnight.

It was 11:45 when I reached home. Parked the car and just left the luggage in the car, headed straight to hit the bed to get a good night's sleep.

KVK,

Nice review, that to the race with Alto. "After 150 kms speed car started swaying", was the climate windy. If not check your car at service station, I have seen lot of reviews wherein Linea's have made 160-170 kms speed without any problem.
