My Pearl Beauty on the occasion of Vishvakarman Pooja
Has someone done a in cabin lights extra fittings. The one that comes in Punto does not illuminate enough in rear seats. This days I see my office cab ppl have installed LED strip kinda thing. Costing 100 Rs. Didn't like it that much but it does cover the entire cabin with good brightness.
Cool, Spotted a 118NE behind ur Punto (in Picture)
Another free general checkup camp. Below is the mail received from Ebony, Bangalore.
The long pending task on my list was to change my car seat covers. I always wanted the sporty look, so thought of going with the 90bhp seat covers but when I googled I found ppl suggesting Leather seats and then I found a review on Imperial Leathers Bangalore (Source : Team BHP). As my cousin also wanted to get his seat covers done for his SWIFT, we visited together to IL on 13th Sept.
The first thing was to decide on the material. They have 5 materials Ranging from 5K - 35K approx (Depending on cars and material selected). After lots of deciding factors we opted for Nappa Dear Skin.
Next was to decide on the design. As I wanted sporty look was looking for Black with Red stitch. He showed me all available design. Selected one among them.
The last part was the Money We started negotiating but he insisted on not because he offered a complimentary along with Seat Covers either steering cover/Neck pillow(there will be no price reduction if not opted). But we were two ppl and we also insisted to come down a little.
Note : As per him the costing for SWIFT and PUNTO seat covers are different because PUNTO consumes more material and time for removing the seat and re-installation + the manpower.
So Finally he reduced Rs 500 for me and made SWIFT and PUNTO pricing same.
As he was booked for 2 weeks he booked us for 3rd week, 30 Sept. But as I stayed far from his workshop I requested him for weekends, so he said he will try adjusting on 27th as SUNDAY he is closed. On calling him on 26th, luckily a person had cancelled his slot and he adjusted me to it.
Finally this weekend my beauty got her new seat cover's done. Total man power required was seven and completed it by two hours approx. Started at 4:15 PM and ended by 6:30 PM.
They started removing the seats at 4:15PM
They prepared the seat cover in two weeks time and were ready to be installed.
The outer red stitch on the Neck Pillow was done on my request. The one he delivers doesn't have it.
Few pointer from the owner was to not use much of the pants with steel buttons on back pockets, like on jeans pant, to avoid it in car. And while getting down not to put the hand and total weight on the right corner of the seats, that leads to damage of the leather. If taken care of all this he said it would go well for about 5 years.
Very well done, looking nice..
Looks smashing. Work is done with precision, very tidy work
Automated Cabin LED Footlights DIY completed successfully. So 2 Weeks back, I bought the LED's from JC Road for Rs 500/- and later the wire's as well as connecter for Rs 60/-
This is the LED used.
Total Cost : 560/-
Hours consumed : 3 Hrs
From 2 days my driver seat window started making an irritating sound when the window was rolled up. Upon visiting the FASS they mentioned that it can mostly be either rust or dust. They sprayed some anti rust spray but that didn't fix it at initial stage so they opened it up and sprayed again. That fixed the noise part. Now my concern is.
1) How can an almost 6K driven car almost new get rusty so fast though I always use a covered parking? Is it common issue in Punto?
2) Now the same issue is coming to co-passenger window. Can I do it myself or I should visit FASS? Any permanent solution?
I don't think this is a common issue, my 5 years old Punto doesn't have any window sound.
Better get it checked properly from service center, since it is coming to another door window again.
