Hello every one, beter late than never. I joined the forum almost a month ago and only today decided that I'll get intro'd having been punto'd almost 10 months ago. I took delivery of my Medium Grey MJD Emotion in May 2011. Please see attached some of the pics shot at the RTO, when I got my PDI done and went for registration in the hot summer afternoon. I still remember that day and the pictures too (see album) came out quite brightly as the sun was its peak, when we reached the RTO. The car was taken from one of the dealers opposite to the LIC building in chennai and my experience with this tata guys hasn't been better than what other users of the forum have to share.

I'd never ever driven a car in peak traffic within the city limits and a few of my friends that were supposed to come along with me take delivery of the car too couldn't manage to make it that day. The car is ready and I already hadn't slept the whole of the previous night due to excitement. Somehow managed to reach the showroom sharp at 9 and I had to take the car out the showroom before 10. Luckily, everthing was clean and tidy and managed to take delivery and take it to the temple and first.

I took the car from the showroom and straight drove for about 12km, from LIC building chennai to the vara siddhi vinayakar temple in besant nagar in peak city traffic. Somehow managed to reach the temple with no issues and without hitting anyone or stalling the engine :dancing

Now the car has completed 14400 km and has its own share Long drives and also of woes with Tata dealer ship. Its my wifey's birthday shortly and I got to go now...I'll be back soon with more updates Team Fiat ians!!!

Good to read your review...happy motoring. By the way no pics attached. We would love to see it...also why did you allow dealer to take to RTO. generally for new cars they have settings with RTO (unless it is an audit, they wont ask dealers to bring the car, rather file). So no dealer want to take risk of taking car on road to RTO for registration.

Thats how it works here across all the RTOs in chennai. Every vehicle geting registered is brought to the RTO and will be examined by the inspector.

Congrats Punto Maniac. some pictures to the forum would have been great as mine is also Medium Grey.
Yeah in New Bombay too i had taken my grande to the RTO office where the Inspector checked the Chassis No. of every car, there were couple of punto's and a Linea with some Sumo from Tata Guys, I had taken the car for the registration after 20 days of the delivery,,

Here are some pictures shot at the RTO. But now a very tamed one and does the job really well. Of course I'm no God to escape from chennai traffic and since was new to driving, have made my own contributions to my greyhound.....this is yet to be posted.

Lol..! What the hell is that:(.
Never mind Punto Maniac, it's just another Tfian that has driven your car.
By the way, car looks a beauty. Sure this color looks best on Punto:mischievous.
In other colors, it only manages slightly better:confused:.
Infact all colors look best on Punto, let me put it this way.
Errrr... hmmm... pls keep your review coming through non-stop.
I am sure you have lot more to share for those 14400 KMs.

Ok. Now its time to hear the perils I underwent since the time of delivery. I took delivery of the car on the 20th of May and exactly after 7 days, the 27th of may. Me and wifey decide to do a short trip to pondy for the weekend. I hit the highway and had earlier set the speed limit buzzer at 70KPH. Once we cross the toll in the chennai bypass, the car kept beeping every time I cross 70 KPH. I switch the buzzer off, when I stop for fuel. Things a take a turn for worse after this...I try doing an 80~85 KPH run and the steering rattles heavily. I was forced to lie to my wife saying that everything was ok, as she insisted in knowing if all were well. Somehow managed to reach Ginger Pondy and the car completes its 1K km run here and give a call to the dealer. Whack, comes the reply "you can always call FIAT emergency Roadside Assitance, thats why we gave that along with the car".

---------- Post added at 12:49 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:40 AM ----------

Imagine hearing such an irresponsible answer from the dealer after ending up with so much spend from your pocket. One Mr Tenzing from the A.S.S told me that I need to bring the car over and they were pretty full over the weekend. I was just losing my nerve and vent my frustrations out over an email to the TATA guys and my dealer in copy. Finally I get a call from the dealer asking me get my car over there on tuesday. Mr. Tenzing test drives the car and acknowledges the fact that the car had some trouble indeed and that I'll have to wait till the next day before I can pick it up.

On the 30th May I start getting SMSs from JK Tyre saying that My claims have been approved and as per claim they have replaced the front left tyre of my car under warranty at zero depriciation. In the mean time the dealers have fitted the spare tyre on to the front left and replaced the spare tyre with the new one that JK replaced. I test drive the car, the vibration is gone, but a few more trouble arises...to be continued...
