i was about to write this sun:) it was amusing to say the least when i came to know that this is what people think is the use of hazard lights in many smaller towns!!
on a four way junction people use it to indicate that they want to go straight!!! :p

Dear Rajan, What i have noticed since my child hood of those days when my uncle was driving an ambasssdor or jeep in thick fogs or when its raining heavily is to switch on the hazard lights to keep other drivers aware of your presence on the road and maintain safe distance its practiced by everyone, following a truck or bus in such conditions is advisable as they have better view and judging capacity on such roads as they are familiar with the curves and strecthes its better to follow them till condition improves as they won't mind you following them unless you are honking and having a high beam.. they easily get to know you are following them and support you all the way until mist or rain is gone.. :)

  4. In case of emergency on highway if you need to pull over all of a sudden and a car/bus/truck is tailgating u this is the safest way to avert an accident. ..IMHO

Road is good all the way a little patchy on the hubli - gadag - hospet stretch else fun to drive all the way.. Swift, Scorpio, Volvo VRL, I20, couple of Innova's, Fortuner, Accent nothing could beat the beast
