And who says FIAT Palio petrol is expensive to maintain. I think this is major service of any Palio and it costs Rs. 11,000 which absolutly fine for the parts which are changed.

    Thanks Abhishek :)

Yes Kedar, Agree. This too is a proactive service. all belts were good for another 10-15K KMS with silicone spray applied. The belts got brittle and were developing small cracks.
Since it is almost 7 Years thought of replacing all.

All FIATs are having low maintenance provided you take care of her time to time.
You need to do the following
Take her out for long drives now and then.
    Keep her clean and neat.
    Change engine oil on time.
Check her shoes time to time.
Listen to her heart beat (engine note).

In return she will provide you 2 most important things in life Safety and Happiness!

Channa, Spark plugs for 1.6 are expensive than 1.2

I guess these are 2 point spark plugs.......

Happy to see your cheetah is back with... Chalo naturals :)

Rishi these are single point spark plugs, 2 point are for 1.2.
Not much, just 15/- difference between 1.2 and 1.6 palios. But yes compare to 1.2 FIRE petrol engine these are little costly.

    Chalo bhai, anytime!!

Noticed a issue with the car after timing belt change.
In idle condition, there is a noticeable vibration for every 30 secs, No RPM fluctuation noticed.

While on roll, it is butter smooth.
    Following checks has been done.

    Coil Check
    Timing Check
    Spark Plug Check.
    Current Supply Check

It is in pandit from the last two days, they are yet to identify the issue. :-(

Update: After 10 days of analysis and refitting everything, the problem still persists.

They have done all that they could do
    1. Changed spark plugs
    2. Changed and refitted timing belts twice
    3. tried replacing Knock Sensor, RPM Sensor
    4. Checked Cam Valve leak
    5. Checked engine mounts

Did many other things which I could not understand, like battery change, high RPM setting, ECU change etc etc.

Now I got my car home, will check with Ravi/Sharad

Here is the video how it is vibrating

Finally got the timing fixed at Ravi, now everything seems to be smooth like butter :)
Just thank you is not enough Pragalbha, for spending a whole day (16hrs) and getting your hand dirty, without you I would not have got the car in a day.

    Here were the issues.

    1. A plate which hold the tensioner bearing was damaged (I'll post the pic soon) in the process at pandit. They just went ahead and used the same plate. bad very bad. Atleast they would have informed and changed that plate.
    2. Wrong spark plugs were used (2 point), First time they have used correct ones, but later when I have them for checking the timing they changed the spark plugs.
    3. Timing belt cover was loose very loose. Pandits didnt bother to correct that.

All in all car is back in form and I am happy.

    Price Breakup
1500 - Labour for timing correction
    300 - Timing cover
1900 - Aluminium Plate which holds tensioner bearing

Once again thanks pragalbha for your help.
