I got 18+ on my first highway run but it's now down to 16 in the city. I will reset the Trip today before going out in the city.
I have read the manual over and over again and will try to reset one of the trip A or B. It's still not easy LOL.

Exactly Manila, there has to be an issue. Good if you are already suspecting it & looks like fuel leakage only. Wish your punto get back well sooner. I would love to see your posts boasting those 18-20kmpl city drive. It's hurting your pocket as well. I think 800-900 kms per tankful in Punto is as easy as it gets with both aggressive & sedate mixture. You may not maintain more than 450-500 kms per tankful at present. It's really frustrating, i understand.

I got my first scratch and dent today. hit a pole while reversing. From the sound of it and the feel of the impact; I thought the entire rear (Boot/glass/bumper) will need to be replaced. However, when I got out and looked; there is a scratch on the rear bumper and a peanut size dent under the "90 HP" Logo. Still, I am a little heartbroken. Don't plan to replace the bumper or get any denting/painting done as I want to improve my driving first.

I am positive if this was another car, the damage would be manifold.

Other than the reverse fiasco, drove pretty well in the city and rarely used the 1st gear. Mostly 2nd gear in B2B Traffic and 3rd gear when above 20. Could not slot the 5th gear due to traffic but drove around in 4th with ease. I noticed there is a lag from the time I hit the gas pedal and the car finally takes off. Is that what is called Turbo Lag?
When does the turbo kick in exactly? Also, what are tuning boxes and can they improve initial acceleration?
The air pressure has altered the ride completely. I think after delivery the tyres were at 34 and then I reduced them to 28. But it was Bumpy today so I upped it to 32. Seems to have improved but is still Bumpy. Plus I read bad things about Goodyear tyres on another thread.

I spoke to my trainer at Maruti Driving School and he said he will come over every weekend for an hour on sat and Sun and sit beside me so I can learn to drive in B2B Traffic and also Night driving, uphill etc. Sounds like a good deal at Rs. 150 an hour.

I went to 3M today but didn't put any film as they didn't have CS 50 and CS 35 seems dark and I am worried it reducing visibility; which will only make my driving worse. The RE series had the GANGSTA look. might look at V Kool later.

Keep pressing the button on the edge of the right side control knob, till you get to see Trip Dist A (or B) on display. Once this is displayed, press and hold the button until you see Trip A( or B) reset. I too learnt it only by accident....

    Congrats..:A!!
I told you to install reverse-assist & avoid chrome exhaust, you ignored that.
This heart was destined to be broken.
Your have hurt the beauty here & it is nothing less than a sin that you committed.

obviously that's what we call turbo lag. There is no tuning box in the world that would remove the turbo lag. It's the turbo device make/specifications & ECU tuning that decides when turbo needs to kick it.
1st turbo shove is felt around 1700-1800 rpm, observe thee tachometer while driving.
the 2nd shove but a violent one is felt around 2200-2400 rpm & car literally takes off in these RPMs.
No solution for lag, the only -ve aspect for modern diesels is turbo lag actually.
0-40 km/hr in FIAT's are slowest one in the industry. 0-40 of Punto/Linea can reduce FIAT owner to drainage water with shame. In fact i suspect 800 & Nano would beat the crap out of FIAT during that initial 0-40 run. But since one always drive around 30-40 km/hr in traffic, in real world scenario it hardly matters.

I am sure for 90 HPs 0-100 run of 13 sec (yes, it's 13 secs without any doubt for me), 0-40 manage it to pull back by at least 2-3 secs as compared to other cars. Yesterday, i tried a 0-60 km/hr sprint with a BMW 320d & by the time i slotted 2nd gear, it was some 60 feets away:confused:! Absolutely humiliated 90 HP:mrgreen:. Though above 50, I felt 90 HP quite something for a 7 lakh vs 35 lakh rupee car.

I really appreciate your die hard effort to manage a dent on OB-90 HP though:(!

Hmmmm, will get a reverse parking sensor installed. I didn't pass it up for a Chrome Exhaust to save money. I could afford both. i didn't install it out of over confidence and the fact that a friends of mine told me that I don't need it (He also bought GP for a 1st car). Honestly, I wasn't even looking when I hit the pole as i am quite an arrogant driver. I usually hit my Enfield front tyre or rear tyre while parking and that's how I know there is a wall. Thank God my bike does not have a bumper.

Let's get those parking sensors done next weekend.

Mellow down buddy. From now on you'll be doubly careful, make some good use of your mirrors when you attempt to park, :-(

This not a bike bro. Moreover, it's tires won't hit first, body will. Punto Maniac is right. You needed some wake up call. It's ok if you avoid for parking sensor now. They are generally installed to avoid very first hit:mrgreen:. Afterwards, driver starts taking it serious.
Be extra careful now, bumper to bumper driving can be learnt over time since most of the things happen in front of you. For parking, it's 360 deg & no one will ever be perfect even if it is schumii. one will always learn while parking so don't be discouraged, pay extra cautions when doing it in future.
