I am taking the car to Bosch car Care in Adyar tomorrow. The agenda so far is:

    - Fix the rear bumper as it is hanging a bit after I banged it into a pole
    - TD to diagnose the rattle on the front right door and open the door panel to check if anything is loose
    - Car Wash, Interior Vacuum, Alloys cleaning
    - Get one or two scratches touched up to check if the OB color matches
    - Get an estimate for removing 2 dents and touch ups on the rear bumper
    - Sunfilm for the 4 side windows - something inexpensive like Garware with good visibility. Any suggestions are welcome on which Garware film to go for. Planning to leave the rear glass without film for better visibility

I am finally able to drive with loud music and most of the rattles disappear after Metallica starts roaring :D
Also, the overall ride quality seems to be improving as the car clocks more miles. the gear box is still stiff with the 5th gear being hard to slot.
Average speed in the city has shot up to 80KMPH and with loud music and rattles faded in the background, I am loving the ride.

Go for any film that have good UV protection. I think dark tint won't match with OB

Is it average speed or max speed. Even in Highways getting that average speed is difficult.

The trip to Bosch today wasn't helpful. They were almost closing and the waterwash was ruled out. Even to install the sunfilm, they need to keep the car from 9 AM to 5 PM on Saturday :(
They TDd the door rattle but no conclusion. The worst part is, they won't do any touch ups and advised me to get the entire rear and the bumper painted. I am definitely not doing that for a car less than 2 months old.

So plan B, this Saturday at Tafe or Bosch Vadapalani.

A friend of mine who has owned several cars over the years and has very good technical know - how, explained that the Palio had long stroke engine and tall gears whereas the Punto has a short stroke engine and tall gears and that messes up everything. Is this true?

MJD's with 6 gears do 200km/hr@4000-4200 RPM in sixth gear. Refer endless 1248 VGT videos. Stock cars on very 1st day crosses 210 km/hr.
Do you mind if i quote their top speed around 220-230 km/hr:mrgreen:
Gears can't be long with only 5 cogs to play with.
Add 6th gear & this will transform into something with the same power/torque.
For stroke, You can refer to BorexStroke at FPT official site for all FIAT engines. Making your friends a mini encyclopedia is not a smart decision. By the way how the hell did you feel Punto slower & it's stoke as small:confused:
Give it to your friend & ask him to take it to an open stretch & throttle it.
This think won't stop anywhere less than 190km/hr.
I am amazed whenever you post back after a small break on TFI, all you come with is negativity & we have to pamper you again to go all out for next break:A

Yep you should. it's not a bad performer if compared to any other car. In-fact it can embarrass many cars with twice-thrice the cost with the way it handles curves@180km/hr. Ask me if anyone doubts this. I have seen C++ segment cars forfeiting in my rear view it when they saw the speed in their speedo & approaching sharp turn. They waited how this fiat would topple but hey, it seems like it's home! The turn didn't even test it:mrgreen:

Problem is falling FIAT's standards. 10 Yrs back, they gave us a car that was certainly the best 2 segments above.
Today when FIAT international is in a far better position, they are offering us you know what. These are again tailor made FIAT international cars trimmed for Indians:cry:. It hurts man! Give us Abarths at a good premium & see A6 & V6 Accords running for cover. They will make the loss anyways, why to lose the heritage & fan following:uh? Do it for FIATians!

Having said that, Since FIAT cars are ahead of time, they are still the best no doubt. It's FIATs that i am criticizing, i am not praising any Chinese asset, know the difference.

I drove the car today for about 2 KMs with the handbrake engaged :uh and that too in speed of 80-100. Then I saw the handbrake engaged sign on the computer and released it. I am guessing there could have been some damage. Do I need to get it checked?
Not a good day today. Almost ran over the middle of the road divider at 120 KMPH this morning while returning after dropping my wife at her office.

    My Dear Whats Wrong,
Always check the Handbrakes and the OSRVM and the doors are closed properly before engaging the gear from the standstill//:cool:
If the Handbrake was only 10 % then its is not a big issue, But if it was more than 50% then better have it checked.:p
Did you loose the control of the car that you almost ran over the road divider and that too at 120 KMPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:shocked

    dear always drive safe,
    Drive with care
