    :)
Any specific reason for opting the same, given that Selina is recommended by FIAT?
By the way I used Motul 300V FactoryLine 15W-50 - Fully Synthetic in my motorcycle and always loved it :)
  3. Selenia is a Semi Synthetic Oil.
I'm looking for Fully Synthetic Oil.
    The Options available are -

    1) Mobil 1
    2) Castrol Edge
    3) Motul 8100 xcess
    4) Motul 300v Competition
    5) Shell Helix Ultra Diesel

So I picked the Best available.
But not sure whether any 1 used it earlier.
Also how it is effecting the engine performance.

    Fiat recommended grade is 5W-40
Only oil better than Selenia WR for Fiats is Mobil Delvac 1 5W-40 but it would void warranty as it doesn't meet Fiat oil specification ie. FIAT 9.55535-N2
Selenia WR is fully synthetic oil.
Mobil Delvac 1 is CI-4 rated oil, this would be my choice if I had to change oil if I don't mind warranty getting void.

SELENIA K Pure Energy (PE) is fully synthetic oil for petrol engines and SELENIA WR Pure Energy (PE) is fully synthetic oil for diesel engine.

You can use any brand. But only 5 W 40 grade is permissible.
FOR GP & Linea 5W 40 is recommended oil. So don't put unauthorised Oil in your car.

If you, then you may face serious engine related problems. :devil
  7. The Oil which is being used in Most Service centers is Selenia WR.
It is a Synthetic Based Oil.
It is not a Fully synthetic Oil.
Please go through the enclosed attachment.

As per the Manual the oil needs to meet the requirements or exceed it.
This particular Oil 300v Exceeds all the current specifications of Fiat (The Complete group including Ferrari).

  8. The 300v Competition makes the car absolutely silent.
A little burble is heard from inside at idling rpm.
In traffic its not even audible.
I can say its one of the best oils I used till date :wow
The responsiveness of the engine also gone up by a good margin.
Now willing to test the other oils also.

Oh that is a shock to me now.

i always believed selenia WR is fully synthetic and was very happy that it costed just 2000 rs. i had a doubt on this though.

but if this is the case then fiat should never recommend 15000 kms oil change interval. they surely havent studied indian climatic and traffic conditions. even the fully synthetic oil doesnt last for 15000 kms.

a semi synthetic will suffice only for max 8 k for a diesel turbo charged engine.

anyways i have always planned to change oil @ 7500kms be it fully or semi synthetic.

ur screwing ur engine in short...15w50 is too thick...internationally all engine oil recommended viscosity is 5w40 or max 0w40..w50 is too thick...and even oil flow wudnt be better during cold start..only upside wud be lesser heat cuz the oil is thick..
