Re: Linea TJET- Windshield and other niggling issues

Is that an appointment with PM of India, drop a mail to services@fiapl.com and tell them you want service within 24hrs and not 24days, if there dealer cannot offer the service, then company should send a service man at your door. What a pathetic show from dealer, are we here in some kind of RASSAN Line?

If you dont get reply, take your car to Ranjangoan factory, meet the product manager Ashish, hand over the keys to him and tell him you are taking away the next produced tjet and he can enjoy his product that was dumped to you. At times i think we need to be aggressive to prove that we are not testing mules, we are buyers who have put in our hard earn money if company and it channels cannot provide the quality product and services then they should refund back our money with 24% interest rate.

i know your case. heard it when i was at pandit. i dont think the whistling sound from brake is a problem. i think its the pads rubbing against the discs.

check the door alignment. the lock on the chassis where the door locks in needs to be perfect for hearing the thud noise.

Ajit, first of all congrats on your TJet and welcome to TFI.

I can understand the frustration of a new car having niggles in a matter of few days. I would suggest to contact Fiat India (you may refer the FIAT contact list in the forum) and you will get instant help.

@Naren, the bumps are those meant for pedestrian to cross a road. I do not have mudflaps on the car. So there is no chance of mudflaps hitting the road.
@Viny, i have already written to services@fiapl.com, but no response from them till now. Anyways going to ranjan gaon would be my last option (atleast for me it is an option, for people who are not from mumbai/pune/nashik region, it would be a huge pain)
@Italia - Aaaah i am one of the hated customers @ Pandit. Monday is also going to be fun day for me over the phone talking with Pandit guys. About the brakes, i have read what other people are talking about and i am still not convinced that for a new car you should not have these sounds coming. Period. After wear and tear sound coming from brakes can still be fathomed, but within 2 weeks is a bit to early aint it ?
@bnzjon: Let have a look at the FIAT contact list and knock their doors for help.

BTW anybody else had a problem with the windshield, which i think has to be a manufacturing problem, then again i am not a specialist so cannot comment with full authority. All i know that if iam looking at a windshield it should be plane all through. People @ dealer talk as if it was my mistake :) ( in all sense )

@Italia : Though i do not want to rant about Pandit, my experience has been not so great and i do not expect a world from them. I am knocking on their doors just because that i have this list full of problems and my patience is tested to the limit ( Hell, my patience has really increased after dealing with Pandit :D )

ya. my experience with pandit was also bad. but more than pandit it was fiat who was playing nonsense. but Rahul Jadhav at fiat is a very nice guy and has immense experience when it comes to fiat cars. meet him.

not necessary, the brakes will make noise when they wear out. brand new brake pads on my alto too make that hssssss sound when i brake.

Hiss sound coming from steering wheel in the extreme position

    Hello All,
Today I noticed a hiss sound from my steering wheel , as if some air/liquid is forcefully being pressed through some tiny hole. Strangely this comes when the engine is on , the car is not moving and the steering wheel is turned to the extreme right and is held at that position .

If the steering wheel at this position is turned-release-turned-released-... th sound comes/disappears/comes/disappears. If the steering is turned to extreme left the sound is there but less.. ..

I noticed it today but dont know if it was always there. Has anyone else experienced it. I understand that the steering is hydraulic but somehow this sound is scary :(. Has anyone else heard this sound in his car.

Ideally should there be any change in the noises heard in the "running but not moving" car , simply due to change in the position of the steering wheel?

    Please enlighten

This is normal vivek, its because at the ends there is more strain on the power steering unit.

This is normal for hydraulic power steering units. No need to worry

I have been hearing a hiss sound from the right side of the steering area. It is not from the steering. It is there when I drive and i can hear it when the ambient is quiet. The noise stops the moment I touch the brake pedal and resumes when I take my foot of the pedal. I don't know if it is normal or just that I have noted it only now.
Could it be the vacuum generator working or is it a fault with the brake booster. All else is normal and no issues. Any idea anyone ?
