In summer the the hot ambient air is thinner or less dense than in summer. Hence the engine will strain more. Diesel engines enjoy cool temperatures which gives them dense air which fills up the cylinders well and hence efficiency is more. You will notice better FE in winter or cooler climes. Dont worry, all engines go through these cycles.

Turbo of Multijet FGT starts to give boost from 1500 RPM & Multijet VGT start
to give boost from 1200 RPM.

Between 2000 to 2400 RPM turbo gives 80-100 % boost.

when fuel get additional boost (compressed air) from turbo combustion process becomes strong.
Strong combustion emits specific combustion noise.
IMHO healthy diesel engine posses strong diesel clatter at idle RPM & this specific combustion noise.

Diesel Engine without combustion noise may seem OK (without any ECU error) But may have performance problem.
In short each diesel engine whether it is 3 cylinder 936 c.c. of Chevy Beat
OR big one Multijet 2000 c.c. has little bit combustion noise & diesel clatter.

    Errors & Omissions are excused.

Replaced clutch kit [Clutch Kit, Release Bearing, Master Cylinder, Slave Cylinder] @ True Sai Motors Salem, Tamil Nadu.

After clutch replacement all gears including reverse gear are engaging smoothly. But getting kind of grinding noise/tooth slipping noise while moving car in reverse direction on incline or even if I press accelerator heavily on flat surface.

Absolutely no noise in any of the forward gears or if I move slowly in reverse on flat surface.

What can be the issue? Is it due to faulty clutch?

[Went only for clutch Kit replacement as not able to slot gears properly in to first & reverse sometimes, SA recommended for clutch kit replacement including master & slave cylinder to get smooth clutch operations, so went ahead for it]

    Hi,
I used to have the same sound issue when reversing. Now a days i always press the clutch twice before reversing the car from stand still. For now its gone, will check it in detail in first service.

I am also facing same problem. I know that rotors are warped and yesterday i visited my local mechanic and he asked Rs.400 per disc to get them turned (machined). Is he charging alright? Never got this job done in my life so don't know the pricing. If someone can suggest a decent garage in hyderabad for this job.

    thanks

New rotors cost around Rs 900 (Not sure if there is a recent price hike). So, it's not worth getting the Old ones machined at Rs 400.

New rotors should solve your problem but also if possible try to run with new pads as well.
And don't worry apart from the shudder there is no problem. Even under hard braking ( unless your rotors are already dead, hold on).

Price of two rotors with pads is around Rs.7000, Rs.5000 for rotors and Rs.2000 for the pads. My car has done just 22000 km that's why I was thinking to run the rotors till my 30K service, at least.

    thanks
