Minor Issues - Others

  1. Your battery must be drained. What did you observe when you tried cranking the engine? Did it just die down with a whimper?

Don't call showroom or Sales people. If you have the number of 24 hour helpline of the service centre, call that. Else call RSA. Do not
try to push start, that could be very bad for the catalytic converter.

Leave something connected that uses power with the key removed and this can happen to any battery. Let us not judge good or bad, before we know what the issue is and what caused it. If you leave the cabin lights on in any car, the battery will die in far lesser that 21 days. FIAT has addressed that, by turning off the lights after 20 mins, if you forget to do it.

OT - @riturajmnnit, you of all people should know not to call showroom, unless you want Shanmugam to take a feed back survey :D

Did you just hear the relays clicking or did the engine actually turn?

It should be a problem with loose connection..just re-inforce battery connections..

Prima facie, yes it seems like the battery has drained. Do check if the battery terminals are connected tightly on the battery.

If battery connections are sound, call the RSA tomorrow morning or get the battery charged fully at the battery shop and drive the car. :)

No not at all blaming FIAT or any vendor on this thing. Just was wondering battery would go kaput in just 20 days!

Now this brings me to a question of for how many days a car can be left alone by itself (assuming that no manual battery usage equipment is turned on like lights, etc.). Or perhaps what best practice to leave a car by itself for couple of days in case of traveling or non-availability, etc.

P.S: Not sure if i should start a new thread just for this one question.

    It's okay, happens sometimes.

Nah, a new thread isn't really needed.

The battery of my cousin's Hayabusa got kaput on the next day of delivery. That means Yahamaha is to be blame after paying 13 lac????

It's a third party substance which is good or bad you never know at the time of purchase. It happened with all other cars too. But these are unknown to all as they don't have forum like TFI.... :)
