    Ravi & other Mods:

There seems to be two distinct streams that all the new photography threads can be classified into - technical and non-technical. For example while Minimalist, Macro, Long Exposure, Panning, etc. would be technical; Fog, River, mountain, instrument cluster, etc. would be subject oriented and not technical, from a photography standpoint. Is it possible we group these threads appropriately, so as to minimize clutter.

    Thanks for suggestion Rajan.
We are discussing on same line.

Please lets not have OT discussions here further. Use PM or other threads.

  4. great Picture, just a question, Since I don't know how it is done in DSLR.
Is it possible to blur the floor part on either sides of the bird?

Thanks. Yes it is possible to do it with a DSLR. You may need fast lenses (apertures with 2.8 and above (smaller F number)) and telephoto focal length. This particular shot is taken with 70-200 F/2.8 lens with F/2.8 aperture at 200mm focal length.

This can be done with the combination of maximum aperture (smaller F number), larger focal length and distance from the subject. Hope this helps.

But again there will be a thin line on both side of the bird where the floor (stones and sand here) will be in focus. To get them out of focus post processing is required, not possible directly out of camera.
