    Gurjinder,

The new swift lower trims do not have brake boosters!! i.e Lxi Vxi Ldi Vdi.Many people are complaining of weak brakes and the braking power at high speed does not inspire confidence at all. There was a silent recall for replacement of the brake booster for the older swift too.

Aaron, please cross check this information. I'm very sure the Swift across all its models does have something as basic as the brake booster. All versions have power assisted brakes .

    Cheers.

I guess the newer ones have it just checked on the home page of the new swift. It says Boost Assisted brakes. The older ones were weak and had to be upgraded.Sorry for my mistake :)

I understand your point. I don't think they will be using different steel for the hatch and the sedan. Please note that the weight difference between Punto 90HP and Linea MJD is 66 Kgs. Linea is way wider, with increased Wheelbase and ofcourse with big boot. Between Swift and Dzire, there is no change in wheelbase. Its only the boot door that makes the difference. Even the weight difference between the previous generation swift and Dzire is almost NIL. I remember it was in the range for 10-20 Kgs. For the new Dzire, with much smaller boot, I believe that the weight between Swift and Dzire can be matched equally.

Reports says that the engines remains the same as that of the swift.I didnt find anything interesting with the new one.The blue shade looks ok but the white one:eek::confused:. Indians will definetly invest their money on this as its a maruti. If this was under a Fiat badge...hehe no need to say anything more,we all are aware of it rite?

The weight difference between the Punto 90hp and the Linea E Pack diesel is 147kg's. These figures may be of 2011 cars. I'm not sure of the 2012 cars. Will update when i have access to a PC

For 2011, GP 90 HP weighs 1144 Kgs and Linea weighs 1210 Kgs.

For 2012, Linea weighs 1210 kgs and I don't think there will be weight reduction for GP 90HP.
