For that rust in wheel hubs and disc brake, go for polish paint at workshops. They will paint black with silver combo for just Rs.600 all four. This will protect rusting in monsoon and cleaning as well. Will post pic sometime tomorrow.

Got a mail from Future Generali saying that they have sent a NCB recovery letter since I had a claim during last year with a policy from Royal Sundaram. I guess Fg must have contacted RS and RS responded with a positive for the claim confirmation. Little does FG know that I had opted for the 20% NCB using my NCB letter got from my previous Fiesta. Which means that I will have to mail the original certificate to FG to confirm the discounts claimed during this year's Insurance renewal. The chap at FG confirmed that this is a new exercise by FG to prevent any fraudulent misuse of the original NCB letter as there have been in recent a few cases at FG. Sounds fair enough, will be sending the letter by courier. But good to know that the Insurance co are vigilant, only after they had a few cases. Lessons learnt hard I guess.

Few issues which need a visit to FASS:
    1) Noise from rear seats. Most irritating. Even on plain roads, get that noise.
    2) Left rear door locking does not auto lock at 20 speeds.
    3) Front passenger seat has a play, tried adjusting but the issue persists.

The car is nearing 24k kms on the odo after 24 months.

An important milestone completed recently. The mileage achieved also was great around 21.1 kmpl. To pamper the stallion Formula 1 applicator pads were bought, already have the Formula 1 carnauba wax.

Its been quite some time that I updated my ownership thread. There was nothing special to write about the stallion as it has been doing its regular duty of daily munching miles. The rear left door actuator had failed long time back and the spares was not available with Balaji FASS and then I did not have time to visit the workshop. So decided today to visit Balaji FASS after confirming with them about the availability of spare. But was shocked to learn that Fiat has stopped honouring warranty claims from Balaji. A quick call to Mangesh Kodalkar and I was told to visit RS motors to get the issue resolved. This means Balaji in the coming days will no longer be the Fiat authorized dealer/workshop. Balaji has two dealership - Thane and Navi Mumbai. Which means that these two cities will be deprived of Fiat service. Tough times ahead I guess.

Torrid Motors already had problems which means there is only one FASS in whole of Mumbai.

@ghodlur , atleast you have driven about 25K and enjoyed.
Think what about new owners like me :(
I just pray that more service centers come up in Mumbai and we have a choice.

It was time for the stallion to ride. In the second week of September 2015, I was making plans for a short drive and a few friends suggested Daman. I like the idea of Daman coz it was going to be cheap booze, fuel, fish and my craving for a drive. My family immediately agreed to this and I started scouting for place. Luckily a TFIian @Saumya Helped me clinch a deal with one of the hotels, I did not want to stay in a resort but wanted to spend more time on the beaches and gorging on sea food. A day before the stallion was washed and all vitals checked. We started on 2nd October at 7.30 am in the morning. Son was ready strapped and armed with his tab.

The traffic was sparse, roads were empty. Within no time the stallion was steadily cruising at 80 kmph speeds. Halted at Dutta Snacks on NH8 and resumed.

The road condition was pretty good. Encountered 2 tolls at Khanivade and Charoti costing 65 and 59 rupees respectively but worth every bit. Before 9 kms from Vapi, there is a turn towards Daman which then goes through a number of villages. Speeds come down drastically to 40 kmph and finally reached the hotel at 10.30 am. Total distance travelled 161 kms and mileage achieved was 24 kmpl,

Hit the beach in the evening. Visited Devka beach which was around 2 kms from the hotel. The water here is brackish, so many wont appreciate it as they are used to white sands.

Next day visited the second beach of Daman i.e Jampore beach which was around 6 kms from the hotel. Spotted a similar Fiat beauty on the beach. So had to click the pic.
?temp_hash=214ce352c1412ffed4ebfd0c910cc26c%20.jpg While the beach fun was good, so was the food fun. Visited the local fish market and bought 4 pomfrets for hold your breath 300 rupees with each weighing around 1/2 kg atleast. This was the final result.

After two days of beaches, it was time to head home. Started from Daman at 10.30 am. Refuelled at Daman itself with diesel costing Rs 45.55 per litre almost 6 rupees more than Mumbai and 8 rupees more than Thane rate.
The final mileage and distance figures.

All in all a good weekend spent, stress relieved, family happy, stomachs happy, stallion happy too for letting him loose. Anything else needed in life??
    Next planning already started.
