For the Linea a Wurth disinfectant was used today. Rest all as you suggested, except I didnt get the complimentary wash either. Spray pump issue. :|

Two surprises out of the AC check up camp.
When inspecting the underbody saw the rusting on the stone guard. The paint was peeling off with rust clearly seen at many a places:eek:. It seems that Fiat does not provide anti rust coating for this part. See pics attached.

Secondly the rubber bushings at the rear suspension springs seemed to have cracked:eek:. There was a faint squeaking noised which was heard when the rear bench was occupied but I had dismissed it off. But I guess this bushing might be required to be replaced. the right side needs replacement, left side seems OK. Decided to get it replaced under warranty in the second service which is due two months away or should I do it earlier.

The sooner you get rubber bushing replaced the better, You never know if new issues could pop-up by then. By the way where are we on your initial quest for spares issue. Did they make progress getting those for you.

A few more surprises awaited me for the day.

I wanted some information on the alloy wheel offer from Fiat. Believe me when nobody I mean nobody at the workshop nor at the showroom had any clue to this:eek:. Neither the SA, the stores guy, CRM, Showroom staff none had any idea about the alloy wheel offer. A few frantic calls by CRM to Mr Valson and it seems Fiat had sent a circular in regards to the alloy wheel offer which was royally disregarded by the Balaji staff. How convinient? I did show to them on the Fiat FB page about the offer but they wanted a confirmation from Fiat themselves. Now to my queries of wanting to replace my stepney tyre in the Punto with an alloy wheel, the eternal search for the answer began & I was promised of a reponse by end of day tomorrow. But must appreciate CRM Mr Sandeep who was patiently answering my questions and at the same time making efforts to search for answers.

To while some time I walked into the Balaji Showroom, hoping to have a look at the new Linea. Surprise, Surprise. No New Linea available. Old Lineas and T-jet still occupied the display podium. Now they didnt even have a TD car of the new Linea. It seems they are waiting for Fiat to send that car. How ambitious?? I am really really doubtful as to how these guys will even respond to the Avventuras, 500 Abarths and the lot.

Fiat if you are reading this, please do justice to your products and kick some lazy asses at the dealership. Please get business ready for the new launches.

    Aseem,

Thats another hilarious turn of events. When I was told about the spares already on order, I assumed that the requisition must have been done at the Fiat Chakan warehouse. Now I was told that the request is still yet to proceed from the workshop to the warehouse awaiting for some local clearances. Looking at the steam on my face, CRM again made some quick calls and assured me that he will get it by any means before the end of next week. Fingers crossed.

The right AC vent which is damaged in my Punto was clicked and will be sent to Fiat QC team. I requested CRM to keep me in the e-mail loop too.

    AC service camp.

    Girish,

Did they use this procedure. What is this thing, looks like a digital thermometer to me. ::D
The reading was 5.7. Can you or any AC specialists here inform me what it is and what significance this thing has.

Sorry for the low light shoddy pic.

Nothing even came any closer to this in my case. They did check the inside cabin cooling with a digital thermometer to confirm if the cooling set is the same. However there was a difference of 2 deg C between the outside temp displayed on the dashboard and that measured by the digital thermometer. Dont know which one is correct.

Now reading 5.7 is puzzling? Only Fiat experts can tell.

    Aseem,

Even they checked the pollen filter (within 1 hr check up camp). :D. The camp was a farce. Although the initiative by Fiat was good but the end results were totally a sham.

Balaji Fiat, Thane had a total of 15 cars for ac check up camp over 3 days period. This says it all.

When I as at 3M Thane, to get the underbody coating done I had requested them to apply coat to that shield but was told by Mr. Ramanujam that they dont do it, as it is close to the engine and might get hot. He told me that he might need a certificate from Fiat folks that it is safe to apply coat to that shield ::D

Mine is also in a bad shape, and I am planning to get it replaced at my next service which is due at 60K, another 4.5K kms to go.

Glad that you got a call regarding the Summer camp, I just got a mail from Fiat  But your experience is a bit shocking as Balaji workshop guys are very professional; Mr. Wilson in particular is very knowledgeable and helpful too; so is the SA Mr. Pingle. I have never had any complaints in the last 3 years or so; the car was always returned to me in pristine form with all issues fixed...touch wood :)
