Just wanted to know the steps in buying a new car after booking is done. After the booking amount and I get the VIN number, what are the steps to be followed?
    1. When should the loan disbursement happen?
    2. When should we clear the balance amount?
    3. Should these be done before the PDI or after the PDI?
    4. Should we pay anything while the car is in transit?
Just wanted to know the general steps involved.

    Thanks for your help.

If you received the VIN number, and verified (http://www.teamfiat.com/threads/vehicle-identification-number-vin-for-fiat-india.12015/), only remaining thing is to do PDI (http://www.teamfiat.com/threads/pre-delivery-inspection-checklist.12759/).
If bank loan is approved, just hold it for final disbursement. And if you are paying any extra amount after bank loan, you can disburse loan amount and hold your amount till PDI.
But do inform this to dealer in advance, normally they insist on full payment before PDI. You should clearly tell them before PDI you will not full payment. This is to avoid last minute confusion.

The loan disbursement and handing over of Form - 20 to the dealer should happen only after you have the VIN number and the PDI is done and it is satisfactory to you.
    Same as above
    Nothing really

Another point is, after you finish the PDI and payment formalities, it is advisable to check if all the documents is in order before it goes for registration. After registration, before taking delivery finish the documentation the previous day if time permits. The delivery should not cluttered with confusion on the documentation and other stuff. This will help you have a smooth delivery experience, be it from any manufacturer.
