Yes SX4 seemed much stronger than Ciaz however not sure on actual specs of SX4
It surely was designed from European sales perspective also. No surprise it does well. See report here..
This is serious safety concern now. Not for maruti but any car without airbags. Fiat's Active & Dynamic version may score zero too if tested. Why FIAT is not giving any option to add airbags in active & dynamic versions?
Though the car is built like tank so why not air bags?
Thankful to FIAT for providing ABS and Airbags in Linea TJET Dynamic variant
Swift with air bags and abs scores 3 which is not good compared to punto of 5.
But needs to introduce same in Punto 1.2 & 1.3 versions too..
maruthi SX4 design is part of FIAT
The seat belts should have pre-tensioners. You can feel the belt locking when you pull the seat belt fast. Pre-tensioners will what would hold the passengers to the seat when it experiences a sudden jerk or forceful pull.
The sad part is, not all variants in a car have this feature.
what is the score of Punto in the tests without airbags?. A car that passes tests without airbags is the one which I consider as well engineered for safety. Airbags are all passive addons. If the structure reaches the driver on impact, then what can an airbag do?
Fiat missed the opportunity to be called safest car on paper too by not giving Airbags and ABS standard. When this sudden NCAP getting many attention now, it would have been good advertisement to send the Active Variants and score some points.
No publicity is bad.
