We did experience the infamous 'lorry overtaking lorry' at "unbelievable " speeds.
We reached Hosur about 7:30 and then Amol's train was 11pm. Dropping them through the Bangalore traffic was not an easy task. We decided over some soups to take Ola cab from Madiwalafor them.
He later got there comfortably and got into train
I caught up with my wife's cousin and went to his place.
750kms, my longest distance on a day, in India, as a single driver.
It took around 14 hours
Av speed just over 50
The next day evening, we went to a village called Manchenahalli, north of Bangalore. Life is much slower and much different there. My cousin was trying out Linea, basically. We stopped for tea in some town that came by and then returned back.
I had decided that I would return from Bangalore though it's a Saturday. Difficult to avoid the Elder one who keeps saying 'I want to see you now '. Got another cousin as company, and the drive would be through Bangalore - Malavalli - sathyamangalam forest (Dhimbham ghat)- Coimbatore - Palghat to Chalakudy where he would get down.
Started around 5 in the morning and picked him from Marathahally around 5:45am.
Just outside his residence
Bio break after Malavalli.
Had breakfast at Chamaraj Nagar Nijaguna residency, that went down along with the bill.
Drove via Sathyamangalam forest, the kingdom of erstwhile Veerappan. The 27 hair pin bends where shared by me and relative. Saw an old Padmini clearing them with ease.
The roads in Kerala was in lot better shape too.
He drove most of the distance, and was impressed with the power. His usual drives are a Dezire petrol and Eon.
We reached Chalakudy in the evening where he met his new born.
The next day, the republic was given a wash at Masterwash, Kochi.
A few days later, went to Pampady, near Kottayam to attend a funeral. This pic is taken at Lunch break in the onward journey
