LINEA Petrol- KiiRUS Tuned- 1st In India

Yesterday i have done the ECU remap through Kiirus for my LINEA Petrol. Here are my thoughts after about 60 kms of drive since last night!

1) Teriffic Improvement in gear acceleration especially in the 2nd and 3rd gear- The pick up has improved to a great extent- though i dont know the exact gain in HP or how to measure it. Abhishek from Kiirus mentioned the range of 9-11 BHP for petrol cars.

2) The lag when down shifting gears is gone completely- the car zips immediately.

3) I have been observing the MID since last night closely and for the 61 kms on the usual route to home and office- it is showing 16.4 which i had never managed before for a longer drive [ i had managed the best of 17 in MID for a patch of 10 kms earlier]

4) No need for frequent downshift of gears especially when you are in the 3rd or 2nd.

5) The acceleration from 4th and 5th gear also seems to have picked up and the car is able to zip through-

Additional Notes- Kiirus has opened a office in Koparkhairane in Vashi which is close to my office in Airoli- Abhishek was kind enought to give his Swift DDIS [Kiirus tuned] until i got my car back. It took around 5 hours for him to do the tuning.

Kiirus has so far done more than 150 cars in India and they use official software [some technical tools and explanation provided were indeed impressive]. for FIAT they use Piasini [i may be wrong in the name] and pay huge license amount for renewal

There was a person from Fortune cars [works on FIAT] who also test drove my LINEA and was simply amazed with the results. He did mention that there is no way that the dealership would come to know of the changes done to the car.

P.S: FIAT has approached Kiirus for some dialogue since Kiirus was able to better tune the Punto than FIAT themselves [Auto Car review of July for Kiirus tuned MJD Punto].

I found the guy very reliable, extremely knowledgeable [has a tuning studio in Freemonte-SFO] and has been travelling all over India for tuning different cars so Kiirus seems to have definitely hit the right spot! People are also getting Dicor's engine/Civic/ Swift DDIS tuned from Kiirus so definitely worth the price!

 

How much you paid for that and is there any warranty threat in doing this?

 

This news makes me all excited and also sad!!

What interests me more is the presence of the Kiirus office in Kopar Khairne. I can give the car in the morning, get to my office and work all day and take delivery of a brand new Punto in the evening! :dancing

 

@ysapre, Question to you, can the original ECU Mapping be restored after the re-maps by Kiirus ?

I mean, do they have any backup sort of scenario, if something goes wrong, can they revert back to the original settings ?

 

Yes- They have a backup that can be restored. Infact Abhishek did tell me about one incidence that happened with a punto MJD in A'bad- where he had to restore the backup. However the reason which was identified later was the fuel pump had lot of dirt that was causing the car to stop after some time. So the problem continued even after restoring the backup and the issue was isolated after a week. He was very honest to tell this to me before i handed over the keys. Infact he sent his person to restore the backup from Mumbai to A'bad and was even ready to credit the entire amount and any other costs that the dealership would have charged but the cost came to meager Rs 430 for the fuel pump clean up and as a customer mr X felt that the car was stopping due to the engine remap.

It was a nice gesture from Kiirus, Abhishek to restore the backup. do keep us updated about the Performance & FE Figures of the car as you clock more miles.

Congrats for ur new mod, an ecu remap is pretty awesome and i hope your enjoying it.
Does kiirus operate in delhi region?
By the way do the service center guys ever check the ecu with a diagonastic tool?
