I consider it a sin to compare current generation City with Linea. :)

If you are more concerned about After sales service and the resale value, then go ahead and book the City VMT.
If you are looking at a car which will be a delight to drive and a safe, go ahead with the Linea.

Note:- I don't really agree with the perception of Fiat service is bad and others are good. To me all are same. All cars are serviced by Indians only. :D

@Karthik: In city conditions also, linea MJD does not have any problems as far as pick up is concerned.. Even in bumper to bumper traffic, you can crawl in 3rd gear, need not downshift...

If you want to know reliability & ASS of Honda, idtec, read this. They don't hesitate to experiment on customers at his cost keeping him at receiving end.

Honda reliability has emerged out of petrol engines (erstwhile city, civic CRV, all did not had diesel versions, as it is petrols were known for lesser maintainance cost in those days as compared to diesel. ) most of the buyers were running them bellow 1000 km /month, less running-lesser visits to ASS - lesser cost of ASS. It is the entry of Diesel idtec which has started exposing them. And those buyers who wanted to run the car in excess of 1000 km were opting for diesels of some other brand eg. Octy, Linea, Rapid, Indigo etc.

As far as B2B traffic is concerned, you hardly get 2 to 6 feet distance to move ahead,I have TD both city & Linea diesel in B2B both are equally fast or sluggish in covering those coveted 2 to 6 feet distances. What is the point in expecting the car to cover that 2 to 6 feet distance like a point blank bullet? Doesn't it carry risk of rear ending the vehicle ahead.?

So if at all, you happen to reject Linea, you can reject it for some other reasons but not for turbo lag or ASS.

Congrats. May I know which dealer you made your booking? Regardless of whoever it is prepare for thorough PDI. And do not make full payment before PDI.

Have paid Rs 5 lakh and was asked to pay the balance in the next 3 days. Have taken in ARAS PVPV motori madurai. The dealer assured to give VIN yesterday itself still not received. Please can anyone share the PDI link. Also it is possible to do PDI before paying the balance. The dealer told me that it will be March or April 2015 manufactured model. Is there a way to check the car like it is not 2014 model or it is not showroom TD vehicle and pay the balance.

@karthik23222 : Congrats for booking MJD. You will never regret your decision for the drive comfort you get.!!

As @vinit has told, 3rd gear works as low as 20 kmph. And, you dont need to accelerate or hold the clutch to keep it at 3rd gear~low speed. Just play with the brake and release, that it will stay in 3rd gear at 20 kmph. Same thing holds good for other gears as well. Try it and you will get used to that.

Once you pay the full amount, you will have no choice than agree to what dealer says. Hold the rest of the money until you do PDI and be convinced of it.
Here is the PDI link. [easily found by searching in TFI]

2015 manufactured one should have VIN ending in HZ.
Mar 2015 would be CHZ, for example.

@karthik23222, TD cars are usually top end models and your is mid end (dynamic).
Look for plastic covers of the seats, In TD cars, they are usually missing.
Look for odo reading & if the ODO is disconnected? Do insist on a small TD inside the stock yard.
Also look for any nail marks under the door handles. Usually TD cars have the nail marks as TD people are usually not well verse with the car and nail marks do occur inadvertently & unintentionally.
Check for presence of thread like rubber spikes on the tires.
Check if there is any evidence of puncture repair on the tires.

Also, If according to VIN car is manufactured in March /April of this year, possibility of car being TD car is ruled out.

These precautions usually rule out TD car.
