    Linea Facelift 1.3 MJD

    Hi friends...Here is a short review on my experience with the all new Linea Facelift 1.3 MJD. As our fellow TFIan nkrishnap had done a brilliant & detailed review on the T Jet, there is nothing much more to say. Still felt like sharing my thoughts :)
    I own a 2009 Linea MJD which ran about 71000km. Im very much happy with the car. I have a habit of test driving newly launched cars. Have been waiting for new Linea. Thanks to RDC Fiat, Nandanam, Chennai for the test drive even though I've clearly told them in the beginning itself that I won't be buying, but will be recommending many potential buyers.
    By 2.30pm today, the sales executive Sethu along with another guy came with the car. He was good in explaining all new features. He said the price is not yet fixed & he'll let me know it in couple of days. I did a 30min drive in the city. Couldn't go to the highway.

    Here is the summary of my TD

    What you'll like -

    * Looks better in real than in photos. But can't be compared with the classy & sporty look of previous Linea.
    * Solid built quality
    * Less engine noise inside the cabin
    * Cruise Control in Emotion variant (Loved it)
    * Better gear shifts
    * Excellent handling & Ride
    * All new interiors
    * Better sounding music system
    * Well equipped (Leather seat covers, New music player, Blue & Me, Reverse Parking Censors etc)
    * USB & Aux port in a better position

    What you wont -

    * Long turning radius
    * Looks might not satisfy previous Linea lovers.
    * Interiors still lack the quality though its better than the previous design
    * White dash board material seems like getting dirty very easily.
    * Expected 1.6 MJD not yet there.

    Exterior

    Curvy design maintained

    New Front Grill

    New front grill

    Main change in the facelift. Though it looks good, previous Linea had an aggressive looking grill. New one has lot of space between the chrome, which shows whats inside.

    IMO the car looks best from the side.

    Sorry...typo mistake :D

    Rear Profile

    Lots of chromeeee :D Felt the number plate should've been in the bumpers & left the boot door plain & classy. This became a conventional design now, but still looking good :)

    New & Better sounding music system. Any idea which company it is? Still Blaupunkt?

    Its still the same. But drivability in city seems improved with better & smooth gear shifts.

    And I felt like driving a smaller car than my own Linea. But that might be coz mine is 5yr old, gears not that smooth etc.

    And this is what I loved the most! Cruise control... For the first time I felt like updating my Linea with the newer one...
    Sales guy showed me the working by setting it at 40km/hr. And I just loved it!

    Nice review.

    I liked the older ones exterior better. Maybe it's the use of excessive chrome in new one. However, interiors are nicely done.

    Good work, Kailas.

    Just noticing the tagline, 'If you still like driving, we're still ahead'. :D What do they mean here? Shouldn't the tagline be 'If you like driving, we're still ahead'?

    Hahaha...Noticed that just now!!

    Conclusion

    Overall Im very much impressed with the facelift.

    * There is not much change in the power. Still the turbo lag is there.
    * Drivability is better in city.Felt like driving a smaller car.
    * Handling & stability is good as always been.
    * Gear shifts seems smoother.
    * Sound isolation inside the cabin has been improved.
    * New music system definitely sounds better, but not great. It has four-speakers with two tweeters and CD, MP3, USB, Bluetooth and Aux-in compatibility
    * Cruise control is an excellent feature.
    * Blue & Me connects up to 5 mobile phones.
    * Rear parking censor is an added feature, but has only beep sound, no visual representation of distance.
    * Suspensions seems to be harder than my car. May be coz its a new car.

    Sales guy said Fiat is planning to launch 1.6 MJD next year. God knows! Have test driven Verna,Rapid,City,Sunny,Manza & Vento recently. Still no doubt, LINEA IS THE BEST!!

    Nice Review and Beautifule Pictures!!

    Noticed in one of the pic that they have given zip for the leather around gear lever. Ours use to have velcro.
    And tyre size you mentioned as R15 ; it should be R16 . :)
