On the way to Pangong through Agham-Shyok route, we got briefly stuck at this water-stream with slippery rock-bed. The wheels were spinning and there were very large stones under water on the river bed. After some manuevouring of reverse-forward-reverse-forward, the car came out. Here are a few Dashcam Clips....

We had decided to stay in the same beautiful, secluded, wooden-cottages in front of the 3 Idiots-fame "Om" shaped "beach", somewhere between Lukung & Spangimik. Following pics on after Lukung and on the way to Hotel.

Thank you @VahanPujari, for the conducted tour of Laddakh. I don't remember clearly if I have seen the pictures from your previous trip, but if I have, these ones look much grand and transport us straight to Laddakh. I liked most the first one of July 2 and the bird's eye view of Diskit village from Diskit Gompa.

Oh, the pictures of the lake were posted in between. Those are very beautiful!
What dashcam do you have? I saw it in an earlier picture and was curious to know. There is a thread running now on dashcam and your input will be useful to all.

It's a humble entry level SJCAM4000WiFi - does more than what is expected out of it! It has been a year & the cam has been doing its duty continuously without any issues so far, touchwood.

Pangong changes colors every minute depending upon sunlight, clouds, depth etc etc. While those changes are usually subtle from color changing from blue to green to light green to light blue etc, what we saw that day was a magical complete transformation.

The above pic was taken at 4:27 pm.
Thereafter, the clouds covered the sky completely (in fact after a few minutes it rained). The following pic was taken at 4:35 pm, 7 minutes afterwards and look at the color of Pangong!!!

Actually, when we reached Pangong, it was 3 pm and the sunlight was at its very best. From our experience in previous trip, I knew the importance of sunlight at Pangong and its colors. So, I was hastening while my sis & bro were busy checking in, having tea, snacks etc (we didn't have lunch). We left hotel at 3:50 pm and reached the "Om" shaped formation in front of our hotel and took the above pics.

Once the clouds completely covered the sky at 4:35 pm, I started cursing my bro & sis!!. Quickly, I looked on both sides of us, dragged everybody from that famed spot, got into the car and started driving towards Lukung side where I saw sunlight from far. We had hardly driven one km and it started drizzling (vindicating our decision to run away from there!).

Following is the pic when we reached the road in front of our hotel and took right towards Lukung. This is my favourite hotel at Pangong and we stayed there during both our trips. THis time though, as the ownership was changed, I could find out the contact details after so much difficulties.

We quickly made a dash towards Lukung, towards sunlight!!

At 5:08 pm, we were still in the cloudy area but could see a turn ahead from where sunlight was visible on Pangong from a distance :) (Following pic)

    20160703-DSC_8928.jpg

We took that turn, saw the bright sunlight ahead, drove ahead (some 2 kms before Lukung), saw a nice secluded spot far from the road, removed some rocks from roadside, drove the car down from the road towards the lake and parked ourselves there for almost an hour and had great great fun. We 3 siblings went into the past and became what we were more than 30 years ago!!

Now that is some Sunlight there !! :)

We finally wound up from there at around 6:10 pm, drove around Lukung, and back towards hotel. Following pics from our return drive back to hotel from Lukung

The views of Pangong are beyond words. And the siblings are captured in their elements.

At this rate, you may have to build a wall to hang all these landscape pictures.

One query on dash cam - You must have done some research before buying SJ4000wifi. I am also inclined to buy this one very much, but for two issues:
    1. It is quite heavy compared to pure dash-cams, right? Almost three times or more. I read these action-cams weight around 400-500 g, while dash-cams are 150 g or less. You comment on this? Being heavy, it may loose grip at times?

    2. Heating may be an issue as compared to capacitors based dash-cams. Your experience and comments on this?

    3. How often you need to change the memory card.

In short, can you give a gist of your research here, or better, in the specific thread running on dash-cam?

The Day of THE Drive along the banks of Pangong for more than 30 kms till it leaves India and enters neighboring country. It's the drive from Pangong-Maan-Merak-Chushsul and then extended to Tsaga La-Loma-Hanle.

Pangong to Chushul patch is so beautiful and gives different angles, different shades, of Pangong with different topography surrounding it that it'll force you to stop every now & then to admire the beauty and to click a few snaps.

Uploading below few dashcam clips today, shall post more pics later.
