    Hi All,

I am planning to visit Kumbakonam this weekend. The plan was to start by early on Saturday (18th) and return back to Chennai by 20th Morning (Monday).
I am going there to visit Thirukarugavur Temple primarily. Along with it please help out on any other temples to see.

Airavadeshwarar Temple at Dharasuram is must see. This is just 6 kms from the heart of Kumbakonam. It is declared as World heritage site by UNESCO along with Brahadeshwara Temple at Tanjore and Gangai Konda Cholapuram. If time permits, visit Gangai Konda Cholapuram as well.

I would avoid both these routes.
    1. Pondicherry to Cuddalore would have heavy traffic.
    2. Perambalur-Ariyalur-Thiruvaiyar stretch is unpredictable. Good at times and become bad very quickly.

    I would probably do Chennai-Villupuram-Ulundurpet-Vridachalam-Jayankondam-Kumbakonam. Route link - https://maps.google.co.in/maps?sadd...oq=kumbako&mra=dpe&mrsp=1&sz=10&via=1&t=m&z=8
In this route, you can also visit the Srimushnam temple which is located after Vridachalam.
