Khat Khat noise from front suspension and jerk in steering.

Three possibilities :-
1. Strut Pads. (You can rule this out if you have checked this).Check here.i believe you are referring the same.
2. Shock-abs travel.
3. As @asimpleson pointed out,also here the same.

 

I am getting these works done at Guru harkishan motors in janakpuri. .. has earlier done good job for clutch and dark smoke from exhaust.... have got struts changed. . Control arm changed. .. engine mount and other things are OK. .. noise is still there but for sure ride quality has improved tremendously.. now he is saying we have to get the steering opened. .. taken another opinion as well... and he too is saying the same thing. But I am not sure as there is no other indication. . Steering is smooth no vibrations. .. but this noise is always there when ever pass over rough road

 

Check link rods, and suspension again. I would suggest caution as symptom shows least probability of steering issue. Although do take another opinion preferably FASS.

 

My linea active 2011 petrol is getting banged with jerk and khat khat sound when driven on patchy road or driven on road cuts for example start of concrete road edges at speed of 35-45 .Its very annoying and feels like driving a cheap car. Had been to goregaon torrid motors and got quote of 25k as they said whole front suspension needs replacement .my local mechanic gave same suggestion and quoted 15k. If anyone knows a good genuine mechanic frm mumbai who can help me do post his number.
One more thing i noticed that jerks,bangs and khat khat sound is mainly on right side and left side is not much so please help me out

 

Had been to kurla for suspension issue...replaced shocks and engine mount pad and now my linea is much smoother and jerk free
New OG Shocks left + right = 4000
Engine mount = 2000
Labour = 1400
Luckily found a good mechanic , Sameer and he said its right shocks and engine mount the main reason for problem...Got used linea shocks for 2k but i went for new one as it costed me 4k frm kurla auto parts.So had it done for total cost of 7400

 

I am also facing khat khat sound when I am taking right turn or full right u turn.
Suspect is drive shaft,cost is around 8k from FASS(enquiry over phone)and I think it's completely ridiculous pricing.
Swift drive shaft costs around 4K,so I am thinking for rebuild the existing drive shaft(CV joint replace) or take aftermarket.
Bangalore members Please guide me to good FNG for above job and also help in aftermarket brand,cost will be appreciated.

 

Few Indications for Noise

Vibration at idling - Check Engine Mount - (Aftermarket brand AMP same quality)
Khat Khat at straight Road - Check Shock leakage, Control Arm, Stabiliser Joint (Aftermarket Shock-Sona, Control Arm -Opt for only change in bushes, Stabiliser Joint - Sona/Talbros)
Khat Khat on turning - First Tie Rod Ends, Then Drive Shaft (Aftermarket Tie Rod Ends - Sona/Talbros, Drive Shaft - GKN/Delphi)

Large potholes and the my reluctant driving has resulted some metal to metal friction noise from driver side front suspension. I showed it to FNG , they said steering rack needs change.
1. What are the after market options for steering rack, and from whom to source it.
2. Shall I take a chance and go for the change in tie rods only.
My car in Punto diesel, 5 years and 49k run.
I also am going to change the strut pads and link rods.

 

I recently faced this, but there was no advice to change the rack.
The noise was gone when link rod, tie rod were changed. The noise was not very severe. Used to come when only when going through real bad patches at slow speed.
The work was done at an FNG, but they sourced parts from FASS.
