Its camera is almost same as XT910...I can vouch XT910 can produce better pictures (not in dark though)

It all depends on some minute skills...thats it...

As far as Mustang goes..it indeed was a monster..which had to be controlled...but speed limits in US kills the fun of driving...

So,I was enjoying by going from 0-60 flat out most of the times...top speed was somewhere around 90 miles/hour..

Ufff....travelling so much ...did not get any time to update...

    Here I go...

Had been on a 3 day trip to Rippon near Wayanad...

    Car: My blue beauty
In the car: Me,wife, kid & a friend couple

Started at 6 am from Mysore road...lesiurely drive till Nimishamba..till 8 am...

    Nice,serene place...

Had bfast at Mysore...and left for Wayanad..

On the way saw some 7 -10 elephants at one shot just besid ethe road...next to us...stopped for 10 mins...enjoying the gentle beasts..

Reached our resort "Rippon mount" by 1:30 pm...what aplace ,just on edge of cliff and valley in front...

    Snap below..

    rippon_valley.jpg dadnkid.jpg

Had a good swim in the pool, rested and woke up to watch a calm & beautiful sunset

    IMG_20130329_180331_491.jpg

After a good dinner, crashed and had a good overnight sleep...

About 6 am started to get very cold and we had to use rigs provided(remember its peak summer!!)

Just came out of curiosity and saw below..valley covered with mist in full....

    IMG_20130330_064852_801.jpg IMG_20130330_065134_461.jpg IMG_20130330_091113_926.jpg

Had good bfast and we headed to Soochipara falls..had a strenous trek of 2kms with daughter on my shoulders..burnt calories..water was less,,crowd more like all falls in Kerala..

Came back and we moved to another resort "My Garden of Eden"...its probably the best resort I have ever been to...simply mind blowing...

    See snaps below..

View from balcony ,bathroom, outside into the valley is out of the world..

    Also,the swimming pool is fantastic..

Me n my friend had a good drink, swam in warm pool waters, had amazing dinner and went to bed...

    See snaps below..

Next day went past some te estates, took Gudalur route just for a change and came to B'lore vai chamrajnagar...easily better than Mysore road..but almost same time ..but without traffic...

    My car drive:

    How can I miss this?

As usual superb...enjoyed Ghats around rippon a lot..and all were 4x4 roads only around resorts..but Punto held it up...

FE was around 1 for whole trip ( AC was ON all the time!!)

For the first time I did very sedate driving on a trip with Punto :)

It's been a long time since I updated..

    I got by 3rd service done at 27 K..bill was 7.5k @Aadya motors

Service was satisfactory..they replaced some internal plastic stuff like C-pillar cover and Boot tray holder etc for free..even if I did'nt ask for them..

Delivery on time...qulaity was good too..car is much smoother now..

The location of service center is pathetic though..I hope an access road comes into existence soon..ya there is no access road now.a proper one..

Only thing I did'nt like was he used some AC purifier or something which cost Rs 500..I did'nt know if it was ever needed...

They did not onlige to fit brake pas bought from outside as well..

AFter a hiatus of about 3 months..due to personal reasons I have re-started my travel....
First report is of my drive to Jog falls..bang in the middle of monsoon...

I usually track water level of Linganmakki dam every year during monsoon..and when its full and inflow is huge..they release water ..like > 50,000 cusecs..

This is rare as its a huge dam..and this dam was full only about 3-4 times in last 10 years...

So,when they open dam gates in full glory Jog falls becomes monstrous...

This did happen this year just for 2 days..in first week of august...

I had planned mt drive exactly on these two days...but again due to personal reasons could not make it..

So,I had to go the next weekend...

Though Jog fals was not monstrous..it was still damn beautiful....a sight to behold..

Those who have'nt seen it ..MUST MUST see it once on your lifetime...

    Day 1:
I left around 12 pm on a Saturday and reached Tavarekoppa lion/tiger Safari by 5pm...

Had a serene drive till Shimoga though..see snap below where cloud.mountain & road are all captured :)
    IMG_20130810_150117_759.jpg

This place is about 10 kms after Shimoga on the way to Jog and is a must see place for kids..

A mini zoo exists and is very well maintained..

    They have Tiger,Lion,Bear,Leopards,Foxes,Hyena ,Snakes etc..

    IMG_20130810_172907_898.jpg

Then I reached homestay about 8kms before Jog ...in a forest..beautiful place..

    To be continued...

    As promised continuing my travelogue..

We reached our homestay on Day 1 around 7:30 pm...it was about a km inside a highway on a mud road...road was pitch dark....

But could hear sounds of birds, streams and wind..I could guess this place would be beautiful..and that was exactly what happened when I saw around next morning..below are few snaps..

    IMG_20130811_065904_455.jpg

    IMG_20130811_065848_255.jpg IMG_20130811_121152_702.jpg IMG_20130811_121024_641.jpg

We were served delicious beg dinner previous night...

We got up at 6:30 and left for Jog....it had rained from 4 am to 6 am..very heavily...

Good for us as there would be more water in Jog..As expected Jog was spectacular... IMG_20130811_073606_810.jpg

    IMG_20130811_083602_405.jpg

AFter getting a front view look..we then went to british bungalow...side..where you can go on top of falls...and peep down and look 1000 feet below (remember kannada movie Mungaru male)

One word..DEADLY...this is one of the most magnificent sights you will see in life...

But yes, unfortunately two people died the same day we went when they slipped and fell down the falls..no chance of survival...

We then headed back to homestay...freshended and left back to B;lore..

Hey wait..what about our FIAT punto...???

As usual 5 ppl ..heavy load...punto did'nt wink..it was all smooth sailing all the way...

EVerytime it amazes me how it handles curves...driving is so easy...

See pic of rain battered punto below.. IMG_20130811_121743_941.jpg
