Nice comparison! Yes due to better gear ratios and lower kerb weight, Swift is always quicker from start stop. During recent long drive, I had a brief friendly encounter with a Swift. Damn, due to better initial gearing he was able to pull away, but as usual Punto started showing its prowess after 120 kmph and once the roads turned littel twisty; I was sure that I can see Swift disappearing in rear view mirror from now on :evilsmile Imagine with better initial gear ratios, Punto will eat away any damn given car on highway!!

Looks like my travels are more frequent than travelogues I can write....

I'm just back from a weekend trip to a farm house near backwaters of KRS dam...

Will write a quick travelogue soon...

Good Writeup Puntosat, OB is looking great too in Punto.
One Suggestion:- Please change Your Wheel with High Profile Tyre & Alloy ( If you don't like alloy, can try for 15 inch steel Wheel too). Because in long drive & long road you will get better grip & smoother drive in 15inch Wheel & 195/60 or 205/60 Tyre than your current one.

You bet it is very very very difficult. I have been trying to convince one of my friends to buy Punto when he was hunting for his first car. But he never took it seriously and later on dropped his plan to buy a car!!

thoroughly enjoyed reading your post but your wife had a torrid time it seems :)
This is of utmost importance! we should always drive at speeds we are comfortable at without getting influenced by any other vehicle on the road !!

every now and then even i keep falling in this trap!!;) but swifts !!:-D i don't even notice them as they appear and dissappear (in my orvm ofcourse ;)) so soon :p!
not swift enough i guess :)

kishore kumar's songs really help in ignoring such traps ;) nowadays i just change the song and drive on....

Discussion on my previous Goa trip ...and punto v/s Swift duel..is still on..ut I will have to write my next travelogue already..

For a change why don't we usher new year two days before year end..so all my usual partners in crime decided we head to one of my friend's farmhouse near Mysore...

Actually the main reason was to empty out the liquids we bought in our previous trip to Goa :)

We left @2:30 pm from NICE road junction..made easy progress...until we felt it was unusually humid at this time of year and deicded to cool ourselves with Dr VJM special...

Our framhouse was about 160kms from Bangalore near Bogadi,Mysore (outskirts)..

Ours was an all male gang..10 members...with people in s/w,real estate, govt depts etc..but we have a common passion for travel & partying...

We bought about 3kg chicken, all groceries ,vegetables etc...oh ya...we call can cook as well...!!

We always carry a gas cylinder (mini)...and its easy for us to find couple of stones, firewood, mud paste and light a proper natural gas stove :)

We reached farmhouse by 6pm..and immediately started cooking...

    By about 8:00 pm...chilly chicken,kebab ,rice & rasam was ready ..

The caps were opened..camp fire was lit, dance started, food went in along with liquids and we had a great time ...

But stand out was "bonda" prepared by one of my friend...pic below

It was pitch dark..with only one emergency light..and camp fire beside us....as there was a power cut..

We hit our sacks by about 1:00am...

Woke up at 9 in the morning..prepared veg biryani..tea..

There was a fantastic pool about 15 ft deep...enjoyed it!

By about 11:00 am we decided we'll go to "Meenakshipura"..which is a small village on the back waters of KRS dam..real beautiful place this..

Here fish is caught live & fried for you...

We tried venturing to close to backwaters

It was disappointing to see such low levels of water at this time of year in KRS...for a second was worried about farmers around...no way it will last another month..

The backwaters were so shallow that it was max 2ft deep ..so most of this water is dead storage which can't be used by farmers downstream KRS dam...

Badly hoping it rains cats & dogs somehow...

We headed back to B'lore after lunch at a Dhaba on Mysore road..

Finally but most importantly...though I have mentioned about party & fun...we all have a policy of absolutely not to mix drinks with drive...none of us drive under influence..

Booze is a habit best avoided...there can be loads of fun even without drinks !!!
