    Hi Guys,

I have a linea Classic + MJD and its time for me to get my leather accessories for my seat and steering wheel.

I spoke to a couple of dealers in bangalore and they say that the steering wheel needs to be removed to get the perfect leather crafted look .

Is it safe to remove the steering wheel for this work ? Please advise

    Thanks
    Srikanth

Yes it is perfectly safe to remove steering wheel to put leather cover.
Just make sure the shop/guy who is doing, has done it before.

It is safe to remove steering wheel if your car is without airbag, else dont even try if your car is with airbags

Removing airbags require the car battery be disconnected a good hour before comencing work this is to avoid accidently deployment of the airbags because of capacitors in the airbag system carrying a charge.

Also newer fiats need a special removal tool which pierces the back of the steering wheel to release the hooks which secure the airbag

I think Linea Classic doesn't have Airbag.
Normally all Airbag variants come with Leather wrapped steering wheel.

Thanks guys.. Ravi is right here. My steering wheel doesn't come with airbags or steering mounted controls. Now I'm confident to take my car to the workshop :)

    Thanks again
