The design of the front portion seems very similar, it looks as if they are from the same maker.

not sure about being similar i think both designs look very contemperory
No Dude they look quite similar, but when u notice it hard its different to me.
Hyundai are known for taking "inspiration" from other designs. The first Sonata launched in India , incorporated styling cues from Mercedes ( headlights) and Jaguar ( tail lights).
The next gen Sonata we recieved looked like it had borrowed Honda Accord's tail lights.
But i gotta say this Elantra looks far better than the ugly Fiesta.

Hyundai's are famous for hybrid kinda designs...i.e copy 50% from japs and 50% from europeans..dats how hyundai cars are born..anyone seen in papers about Hyundai Fluidic??
