if they launch something like this we need not search for places for the meet. we can go when ever we want and enjoy..
on top of it we can shop for accessories during the meet..

Donno about other places, but if they launch something like you said in Hyderabad then the guys over there will be so fed up with us that they will close down pretty soon. Its hard to handle us TFIans.

    New Delhi
Where is New Delhi centre ? Any idea ?
  4. As a concept this looks awesome.
Need to see how FIAT implements this. Need smart professional guys with customer centric mindset to man these boutiques.

I think its a good step forward to improving the feel of the car & boost the brand value.

Now we know why sales are not improving! The CEO seems very happy with the volumes Punto and Linea are doing! New brand activity will be happening very soon! We have been hearing that over a year now! How much more time you need?!

Again, which world are these people living in? In what way are the Punto and Linea are doing good numbers. The CEO clearly says he is happy with the performance of the two cars. If you are happy doing 1000 units in a market where the leader does almost 8,000 units then there is really nothing much to say!

Great that you know you need to get aggressive building the Fiat brand. We have been hearing that over a year. On the ground though, there is nothing to see. The proof of the pudding lies in eating it. Time is of the essence, everyday you lose sales , market share and reputation. If this is the way you will go thorugh 2011, then you surely woudn't last beyond 2012.

So if the duologic cannot be fitted into the Manza, it will not come to India?! It's a 50:50 JV isnt it? Tata does not own Fiat. You upgrade your products. Let Tata follow. Why should Fiat pay for Tata's inability or inefficiency? Is cost a concern? Manza will do more volumes then any Fiat which will bring down costs? You can charge a premium for duologic. It's all about marketing, shout from the roof tops about what a technological innovation it is and you can get away with some premium. And for God's sake please don't bring in duologic with the 1.3MJD!

    Good thinking!

I think what Rajeev Kapoor meant was that he tests the functioning of Fiat First anonymously.

Lastly, Fiat needs to reposition their cars and upgrade the engines and transmissions. That is the only way to get ahead. In my view, the Fiat range can be:

    Fiat Punto 1.4 Petrol.
    Fiat Punto 1.3 MJD 75bhp.
    Fiat Punto 1.3 MJD 90bhp.

    Fiat Linea 1.4 T-Jet.
    Fiat Linea 1.3 MJD 93bhp.

These cars can slowly be upgraded to:

    Fiat Punto Evo 1.4 Petrol.
    Fiat Punto Evo 1.4 T-Jet
Fiat Punto Evo 1.3 MJD 93bhp.
Fiat Punto Evo 1.6 MJD 105bhp.

    Fiat Linea 1.4 Tjet.
    Fiat Linea 1.6 MJD 120bhp.

    Interview with Exhibit magazine

Every other car manufacturer in India is popping up with something absolutely new and never seen before. What would be your taste if you come up with similar concepts?

It gives us an opportunity to look beyond the ordinary; it gives us an opportunity to stretch and challenges us enough to do better. We have also incorporated new innovations in our cars to handle communication, and safety.

How has the journey been since the joint venture between Fiat Group Automobiles S. p. A., (Fiat) and Tata Motors Limited (Tata)?

Like any other manufacturer we have opportunities and we have challenges. We have had our knock downs and we have gathered ourselves up to run again but I am certain that we know where we want to go and we shall get there.

Which class in society do you mainly target at? What are the reasons and strategies behind the same?
We target the Upper end of the segments we are in. We clearly want to be differentiated on style and technology which are our core strengths.

At driver’s seat, what’s your choice of car?
    Ferrari 360 Modena

Who or what have been your inspirations in life?
As you progress in life, you learn from not one but several people. For me a lot of learning has come from Mr B M Munjal, Chairman , Hero Honda and from Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Fiat. They are my role models.

    Your favorite gadgets and technology?
Apple iPad 2 and the applications it has.
