hello guys, here i am up again with another question,
Ecu is not interchangeable, but is there any way to make it run from 1 car to another, ?

    here is the situation,

i have the active punto mjd, i found another ecu from punto mjd, what would be the changes i have to made in the donor ecu to make it run in my car ?

something like changing the VIN, serial no. change and codding is required, how it can be done without taking the help of Fiat ASS ?

please shed some light on this topic,

Note : my car is currently perfect alright, the above topic is arose for study purpose of the behaviour of ecu and their charateristcs,

I think ECU can be interchanged if car make and models are same.

There is a issue of codebox for key matching (immobiliser) dont know for sure, if that is a hinderance and how it is worked around. Will post if I find.

Not without way too many modifications.

Please check this post first for more answers.

Also, highway performance or general performance is an equation that involves lots of components besides ECU.

ECU from other car should be usable if part nos match and you have tool to code immobilizer and injection system.

ECU from other (non FIAT) cars should not be fitted to your car.
Yes you can take out another punto ECU and check in your car. This can be done only at FASS. They can start your car with code card that comes with ECU. Without the code card your car cannot be started.
When a new ECU is to be fitted they match the key code with your ECU to program the immobilizer.

I think same version ecu can be interchanged as a friend of mine had some problem with his safari ecu the service station people for testing changed his ecu with a different safari ecu, but not sure this thing working on fiat cars and setting codes for immobiliser.
