    Dear all,

In the case of my punto insured with HDFC ergo. as per the service adviser:

    1) the very expensive engine mount screws, will be consumables at INR514 each
    2) radiator will be considered plastic, costs 5k, some metal pipes too, for the AC, are considered plastic!
    3) ornaments and badges: consumables eek.gif
    4) Engine gasket : consumable Shockked.gif 5k odd!!
    5) 5% salvage on total claim

Can you advise? Salvage deduction is NO WHERE mentioned in policy documents. Can I fight?

The Insurance company has not yet given their final say, because the final invoice is yest to be generated.

Can you folks advise me please? It seems for a car yet to complete 2 years, a bill of 125000/- approx, I have to shell out 45K as per the SA...this doesn't quite make sense and I found out a few discrepancies on the primary estimate itself.

    regards

Radiator is considered in plastic by all the insurers nowadays.
If the engine was dismantled to clean up the mess due to this accident and the insurance is paying the labor, the gasket is surely payable @50%.
All AC pipes are considered as plastic as they comprise of aluminum and rubber hoses combined. Ornaments and badges cannot be consumables. It has to be considered under plastic.
As far as the salvage value is concerned, each insurance company has their own guideline over it. You can ask the HDFC his to waive it off and keep the salvage for themselves.

Thank you so much. I will try to reason with the insurance people.

Even I was of the same opinion that ornaments and badges would be plastic.

I will keep you all updated and post the full list of spares and prices in the appropriate thread for the benefit of all.

    Unlimited claim by Bharathi axa

    Hi All ,
My insurance is due in a week, I got quotes from Policy Bazaar and also KHT's insurance division

    Policy Bazaar:
    Bharathi AXA - 11,872
    Bajaj Allianz - 12,951

    KHT:
    TATA AIG: 13,792
    Bharathi AXZ - 14,332

The representative of policy bazaar claims, with bharati AXA we have unlimited claims, where as other have the cap of only two claims.
Is this really true ? with that in mind is it better to go with bharai AXA.
    Provide me your inputs :)

Are these amounts inclusive of zero depreciation premium?

Under a comprehensive policy may it be any company, you can claim n number of times. If it's a zero depreciation policy, the number of claims differ from insurer to insurer. In these cases you can claim the stipulated number of claims under zero depreciation and unlimited claims with depreciation.

Why is there a difference in the Bharati quotes? Is the IDV different too or same?

Yeah the IDV is different by 20k, policy bazaar said they cant increase the IDV anymore, Also the KHT's quote involves consumables too.

Regarding the coverage on consumables, i have to just double check once !!
