Arre bhai why are you creating a suspense? Come out with the product code on your locally procured black box. A simple solution to end all discussion! If I have the wrong one, I'll not even install it and seek a replacement from DS rightaway.

No suspenses sir ji, it was a different code from connects2, I shall try and pull the head unit to find it out or call my installer in the morning.

Assuming that my 4 channel amp can run stable at 2 ohms, is it possible to run it in the following way(s):

Front channels to power components in 4 ohms mode
Rear channels bridged to run subwoofer in 2 ohms mode?

Pretty much with a little tweak in the subwoofers connection, simple run the sub in 4ohm setting.

    Waheguru Waheguru.

    Change of plans!!

Aha, I'm back again with a fresh set of queries. Due to some unforseen circumstances, I could not proceed with my earlier plan. A blessing in disguise, I would say, because I was able to save up money and now considering a slightly different (read:upgraded) ICE plan.

The list of equipment finalized and procured till now:
    1. Head Unit : JVC KD-R926BT (bought)
    2. Subwoofer : Ground Zero MKII (available already from previous ICE)
    3. Steering remote interface : Connects2 CTSFA004 (bought)
    4. Dash kit (fascia) - bought

    Suggestions needed on the following:
    1. Front components : I already have a pair of Illusion Electra EL 6.1 from my previous ICE. I absolutely love it's natural sound output. I was infact thinking of installing the same, but then, I'm also considering an upgrade here (if it is truly worth!) so as to derive the best out of the HU.

    Budget - upto 10k

    2. Rear door coaxials : yet to decide (but I need the budget options as these are just rear fills)

Budget - as cheap as possible!

    3. Amplifier : Now here's the tricky part. I'm confused between these 2 options:
    a. A powerful 4 channel to drive front comps + sub in bridged mode
    OR
    b. Utilize my existing Blaupunkt GTA4 MKII for front comps and get a good 2 channel for the sub exclusively

    Budget - upto 10k

    4. Damping: for front doors only - need suggestions on brand (NoiseKill or Dynamat?)

    Please provide your inputs!

    Comps - rainbow DL-C 6.2
165mm Paper Midwoofer, 20mm Silk Dome Tweeter with
    deluxe crossovers

    price 12990/- (without disc)

since your budget for an amp is on the lower side, its better you run the blaupunkt in bridged mode to power comps and get a kenwood/RF/ mono for the sub. Co-ax's can be run off the HU

for damping look at dynamat extreme or stinger roadkill.

Aren't Rainbows on the bright side? From what I have heard, they can be quite bright. I really need something very natural and balanced. If it's not a compelling case, I'll rather stick to Illusion Electras only.

When you say "run the blaupunkt in bridged mode to power comps" - do you mean bridging 4 channels into 2? Or just using the front 2 channels while leaving the rear channels vacant?
Thanks. Indicative price for front doors?

Thanks for this. Will check it out.

the rainbows are more on the natural sounding warm side.

yes i mean you bridge the 4 channels and use it as a 2 channel amp

between 1400-1700 per sheet so roughly around 2 sheets per door will do
  9. You can go in for the Helix esprit E62C components. Helix equipments are extremely neutral sounding. MRP is Rs. 11,750.00.
