Finally my car is 1 year old and certainly it deserved a gift for the wonderful service it has given me over this past 1 yr....and here i was thinking wht she might just need

Tuning box, custom seats, body kits or maybe ICE

so finally decided upon getting the ice reworked as my GF insisted on it and also bcoz I thought it was due....

So here we go with Phase 1 of the downgrade

    Year 2009,
Scorching summer heat(and some more), as the results were out for my CA. entrance and was just not happy with it as I had cleared it, and knew that its gonna be one hell of a boring line to study(stupid enough to choose it myself). Everyone was excited to see the results, more so the marks(147 out of 200), excited to the extent that they forgot to congratulate me and already started mentioning it to our relatives. Well that was that, the only good that happened that day was something I could have never expected, my naanu and naani gifted me a hyundai accent. Instead of thanking all I did was laugh as it was one truth so hard to swallow(felt like tonsils had grown back :p), imagine a guy driving a 1997 zen with a black front bumper and body coloured rear bumper, getting a brand new sedan was like being paid bonus even before the appointment letter.

Now that the seed had been laid for the problems to surface, the first issue that came up was "WHO PAYS FOR THE FUEL". The accent certainly not being on the happier side of the term "Economy"(more so due to my driving habits), the fuels bills were almost twice of what I had to pay in my zen, mostly due to increased running. Now that being taken care of by my DAD (introduced me to share market), next up was Bass and Tr(E)ouble. Looking at many of my friends cars they all had the tried and tested and also explosive(read sony explod) sound systems, loud enough to make announcements in the vallet parking :p. Compared to that all I had was

Pioneer source with some crappy paper cone co-ax's x 4

somehow managed to live with that for a few months. Finally hit the jackpot when dad agreed to get me an audio upgrade, only limited to adding a "SUB" and an "AMP". Went straight into hell(Elegant, lajpat nagar) with all the money and later realised that clearance exams doesn't make u any smarter. Finally got a ported sub and an amp added for 10k. So now the setup looked like this

    Source - pioneer
    Speakers - Hyundai????
    amp - Sound barrier
Sub - jbl gto 1204 br

Was quite pleased with the loudness and the ability to produce bass more than existant in the song. Until the unexpected happened, got rammed by a car(palio) from behind at around midnight, ended up looking at the sky and soon realised that my knee had become flexible enough to bend either ways. Shocking part is the "LADY" who rammed me even called up my dad and told this had happened, and soon enough he was there with all guns and swords blazing. And so while being admitted for a knee surgery, all i had to do was pass my time somehow and this is when the biggest problem of my life showed up.........I came across "TeamBHP". Thats it, thanks to that bunch of old hags I went deeper and deeper into the ICE and before I realised I had already put up all my equipment up for sale and after reading reviews visited GYRO and got the audio restored. Sometime later my audio looked like:

    Source - Pioneer p80rsII
    Comps - Rainbow F3 kicks
    Amp (4 channel) - kenwood 8401 amp
Amp mono - RF prime 500-1 amp
Wiring - kicker 0gauge wiring kit
    Subwoofer - Image dynamics IDQ v3 12"

having spent something close to a lakh, I was pretty much satisfied. One good mornign dad came up to me asking about PUNTO, as a new car was in the pipeline for long. He test drove it and didn't like its heavy nature and fiat's reputation much, "lekin bachchon k aage kiski chali hai aaj tak", he finally gave into our demands and we bought two grande punto's together(one for my younger sibling)

But then came across the brand M*****I and after having a word with BBW (Jasdeep) I was all set to play Italian. Went to "DRIVEN" and had a long chat with the owner Subhan, and finally we closed the deal on a 4 channel amp. Now that the one currently available with them was sold out just hours before i made the commitments to driven I had to wait almost a whole month for the next shipment to arrive. In the mean time he had convinced me on changing the complete equipment i had in the name of SQ, so much so that now I wanted 2 idq 12's version 2 and was willing to sell my idq 12 version 3 for them and thats were subhan worked the magic of his good relations(Shady) with BBW and helped me procure 2 idq 12's, which gunbir(BBW) was ever so reluctant to give away, Since they were the only 2 left and it was near impossible to find any in india up for sale, and since just 2 are left it has to be in my ride. To the worst of my woes, when everything seemed great a bomb dropped on our head saying"recone glue not availabe kindly contact guys at U.S".

And so the wait began again, finally the glue came 2 weeks after the order was placed. During that time we thought y not make them custom edition woofers since they are the last ones to be sold, and here in comes the idea of painting them "WHITE". With all the brains at work soon a wonderful specimen came to life, thanks to the expert worksmanship of all at driven, bbw and patel auto(they were the ones who repainted them).

During all this waiting period, the guys at driven had completed the damping on the doors, the boot, rear side pillars, suspension intrussions and all the possible places one can think of.
Another thing that came to our minds was, what components can handle that crazy S**T loads of power, and by that i'm talking something in the region of 4x200w @ 4ohms/ 2x950 @ 2ohms. So in go the Image dynamics chameleons cxs 62, with power handling ranging from 25-250 watts, these had to be it. By now my budget of 60k has already gone past a lakh or maybe even further

So finally now that the installs is complete and so is the script here goes the cast and crew and the list of the equipment and there pics

    Special thanks to

Subhan(driven) - for the install and all the equipment
Gunbir(BBW) - for giving away the idq's and telling me that Kicker 0guage wires don't give out sound :p
Jasdeep(BBW) - for the trim plate and supervision of the entire install
Mukul(owner patel auto) - for letting us work and helping with the wonderful piece of paint job carried out
Rana(driven) - for arranging the lunch

    The equipment

    Source - Alpine 117E
    Comps - ID cxs62 chameleons
    Amp - Mosconi 200.4
Subwoofers - IDq12 v2 "storm trooper" custom edition
    Wiring - kicker 0gauge
    Damping - stinger
    Rca - connection

for the queries on prices pl contact Driven.
