You can install active sub from blaupunkt, alpine, pioneer and hertz also have that. Sub required more power what stock system not able to provide.. do not do that without amp

There are two types of active subs under car and in boot. Try the bigger one for boot for enhanced effect. Enclosure matters. Proper enclosure based subs are available in market with or without port. My personal preference is ported box subwoofer like jbl slipstream etc. which is calculated as per theile small parameters and port design is also after extensive testing selected.

On stock HU you can install a prefabed box subwoofer with inbuilt active amplifier plate or go for amplifier separately as well. They come with separate low and high pass filters of their own.

@asimpleson, can you help me with my situation
    Need your expertise here

I have recently installed "Blaupunkt - GTb 8200 A - 8 Inch Active Subwoofer Enclosure" in my punto evo, for some reason i am not satisfied with the output. Either its too heavy, window rattling or too low. I am presuming it could be due to wrong subwoofer setting (knobs) provided at the side of it. Can some help me in getting the optimal and good bass for these kind of woofer.

Car is Punto Evo Sports 2015
All the speakers are stock, only subwoofer added.
Output to subwoofer using a high low converter
Wiring done using the cables provide with subwoofers.

It may have to do with settings built into the headunit. You need to see if any gain settings are on higher side. Also if the bass boost or +db settings on the active subwoofer amp plate is creating peaks that are causing issues. In most probability it could be an issue with high pass and low pass settings on the amp plate. Your active sub has those settings in most probability.

Keep the volume on Sub to minimal. All settings lowered. Use a test track for eg. "Bass I love You" Raise the volume on headunit to 80% of max volume you prefer. And start opening and trying permutations on you subwoofer. Sorry for being vague. But please read about specific terminology on the internet. Let us know how it goes. You want the best compromise at regular listening volume and protect sub at max volume listening levels.

    Hello Guys,
Need your advice on doing up ICE for my pre-worshiped 2010 Fiat Linea 1.3Mjd EMotion Pack.
Firstly, I'd like to make use of my previously used JBL Woofer (GT-Basspro12) and JBL Amp (GT X424) which are just lying at home (After I've sold my Swift).
First question: Can this be done without changing the HU as I don't want to lose Blue&Me. The Amp I guess is a 2 channel so probably would only be used for woofer, not sure if it can be used for Components too. I'd like to keep the ICE as simple and straightforward as possible. Clear n crisp vocals via speakers (accompanied with a little bass thanks to components) and deep Bass through the existing Woofer that I have.
My second upgrade shall be the 6.5" Components for the front with Door Padding and 5.25" Co-axials for the rear. Have read too many options here which has made me even more confused here:confused:, Do not want to stretch the budget beyond Rs10000/- including the Speakers (Fr. Components and Rr Coaxials), Door Padding as well installment fee etc. (Shoe String Budget:shame:)
Third, does anyone know a good installer in Pune who'd do a neat and clean job without jeopardizing the superb zero rattle doors in my Linea!

Kind of Music I listen to is mostly EDM; 80's and 90's pop and synth-pop: all time favourites Pet Shop Boys:oldman:; alternative: read Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Chainsmokers and XX; Soft Rock a la Def Leppard and the occasional Ghazals by Pankaj Udhas and Jagjit Singh.

The OEM Speakers are just not at all to my liking as I had beautiful set-up in the Swift with Hertz Components and above mentioned Woofer and Amp.

I do hope the information provided above would help you guys to help me:angelic: extract the best out of whatever I can from the shoestring budget.

    Thanking all in advance!:)

    @Shahnawaz Shaikh

For your first question, yes you can do it without changing the HU. Refer to my post here where I have put in some details on how I had done it.
    http://www.teamfiat.com/threads/ice-upgrades-and-the-options-used.2312/page-16#post-841929523

Having said that, you wont lose much if you change the HU to an aftermarket one, as nowadays you have lots of options to make up for the B&M, and you will get a much better output to components, as the OE HU is anyway low on output power.

Refer to this post to see what I'm talking about :
    http://www.teamfiat.com/threads/tfi...upgrade-guide-v2.11953/page-27#post-841970759

For your second question, with your existing 2ch amp and sub, adding budget 6.5 components , 5.25 coaxials from pioneer or similar brand will do wonders over the OE speakers and wont break the bank much. Door padding is optional IMO, I have never faced any rattling or vibrations with my setup, though I should say it is nowhere near audiophile SQ or pressure levels.

Hope this helps. Do keep us updated on how you decide to go about with your upgrades.

Has anyone upgraded their HU to aftermarket that has iOS CarPlay support? I’m planning to upgrade my HU in my Grande Punto Dynamic model.

And will the stock speakers be enough or upgrading speakers are also suggested.

    Dear Selwyn,
Thank you so much for your response. Have been through both your links and have decided to keep the head unit as I like the Original Finish of the Front Centre Console and don't want to lose the looks even though as you say I wouldn't really lose the functionality with the new Bluetooth-enabled HU's.
I had casually dropped in on an accessory shop while driving and asked him advice and he mentioned adding Focal Components in front and Focal Co-axial at the rear with door padding and installing my existing Woofer & amp estimated cost Rs.20000/- when I said it's too high he said remove the door padding which would bring it down to Rs.16000/- although he'd add spacers to make sure sound is vibe-free. On further questioning he mentioned the Front Focal Components are Rs.7500/- and rear Focal Co-axials are around Rs.5000/-, before I could get further details got a call from wifey that my kiddo was getting bored in the car so had to leave. Took his contact details though so that I could speak to him later.
Are the prices right for the Focal Brand Comp. and co-axials? He showed me the sample of Inverted Dome Components of the Focal brand.
If I install Focal Components would I still require amp powering it or the HU's power would be enough to get out the juice, I'm not extremely fond of Sharpness/treble (If that's what is meant by bright, read in couple of posts)
Thanks again Selwyn for sharing the links and your advice, appreciate it!

Focal is great in there hi end speakers but in budget range i also found its too sharp. Instead of that you can inquire Pioneer D series components. It’s having high sensitivity so may not require Amp to be install . You can first check with without Amp how its perform. Price may be 7.5 for compo and 4.5/5k for coaxial.
