A lot is being shared on the social media now a days on boycotting the China made products. And every body will feel the need to do so, including myself given the current border situations.
Now the real question is how would one do this to a certain effect.
Stuff includes : Mobile phones, all electronic gadgets including Televisions, laptops, computers accessories, Diwali Lightnings, Toys, Automotive accessories and tyres, stationery. Etc. may be a long list.
The first thing difficult it seems is the mobile phones. Rest can be avoided to a certain amount . But the real issue is like the micromax brand, though the owner is Indian, the manufacturer is Chinese. Future group is also a major importer for Chinese stuff.
This movement needs a major nation wide support. Seems difficult.
Any major occasion /festival here, and the Chinese giant seems to be ready with cheap alternatives.

Regarding smartphones, even brands like Apple and Moto are manufactured in China, let alone the cheaper Chinese phones like Xiaomi, LeEco, Huawei, Lenovo, OnePlus etc :D

Our patriotic government should ban anything which contains Chinese items.

Our views on macro geopolitics need be much more macro than they are now. What we do know is we want to give them more reason to not shoot themselves in the foot or attack us. They don't want those borders too, historically they have been pawns too by choice or otherwise just like our neigbour on West. Bilateral trade or unilateral market both are important to keep things spiralling out of control. Let those 120 Tejas with Brahmos NG be in operation in another 7-10 years and quantity will show the quality of its own. You need to protect those 36 too don't you. Besides cost of full fledged war for Indo-Pak especially is even more unimaginable for us, given we have more to loose on infrastructure or economy or people given the nukes they hold too. Cost is important than outcome. Pre-emptive is out of equation (for the most part) unless there is absolute support from powers that matter.

Speaking of technology lots of high technology is yet not available for us to be self-reliant or independent; SOC fabrication or processing chip even to match their attempt of Loongsun processors (for example). So we need be realistic yet cautious in our approach.
