Check this, this is done by a forum member for his UK punto... Except for the additional fog lamp cover in models abroad, other things are same I guess.

You are right. This should help anybody trying to replace the bulb or the whole fog lamp. One tip - chock the wheels and jack up the front side where you are replacing the bulb. That will make it little easier to work. When you jack up no need to say you should take all precautions of working under a jacked up vehicle!

The procedure from the above video is exactly the same for removal of whole fog lamp. Just the connector is little different from inside.

Yes,usage of jack is essential at least for the first time.

3 Torx screws T30 (one at the front and two at the bottom of the bumper)
The socket at the back should be removed first and then slide the fog lamp out ( Need to get under the car to see & remove the socket for the first time)
Once the fog lamp is pulled out, swapping bulbs is simple.

Had H4 X-treme Vision for quite some time and thought of replacing the same for fogs as well.
Replaced OE fog bulbs with Philips X-treme Vision H1.

Philips XVs have slightly better light throw when compared to OE.

Hello Maddy79.. Me too see the necessity of upgrading the fog lamp bulbs. Do you remember the wattage and manufacturer of the OEM fog lamp bulb when you replaced it?

Also how much improvement you see with the philips xtreme vision in mild rain?

The fog lamps front glass can tolerate the heat emitted by the xtreme vision bulb?

Also how many hours is the life of xtreme vision?

OEMs were OSRAM make 12v55w H1
    Philips X-treme Vision H1 were also 12v55w.

Improvement was in terms of spread but not much in terms of intensity.
As you might have observed , wet tarmac roads turn pitch dark during rainy nights. And non of these serve the purpose then.

Right now I got OSRAM Fog Breakers H1, yet to test them during this monsoon.

Life of any of these bulbs is subjective in terms of how many hours of continuous night drives does it stay ON.
Always switch off the lights when vehicle is not moving ( halts at Traffic signals, slow moving traffic and short stops)
