    Not influenced but encouraged

Though I am not an expert about Cars having just a 2 years ownership (1-1/2 yr Wagon-R, 6 months T-Jet+). But I knew what I wanted in my car.

A friend of mine purchased BNW Linea MJD in Oct 12. I doesn't say that I influenced him to buy FIAT as he was already inclined to buy one even before we discussed about his plans but I encouraged him by my experience of T-Jet+. We even got a very good deal also but had to step back due to some reasons & later he purchased from different dealer.

On the other hand, one of my close relative asked my opinion before selecting a entry level sedan or mid level hatch. My suggestion was to have test drive & select a car that suits you. Go for Suzuki Wagon-R (a never go wrong car) or if you wanna out of the league get a Punto. Later he booked Swift D-zire (LDI), I am still happy because that D-zire has a heart of FIAT.

Last month one of my friend was hunting for a diesel hatchback to swap his 2008 swift, he did lot of research, TDed many cars available in the market. One day he called me to discuss pros and cons of Liva and told me that he had driven most of the diesel hatchbacks and out of the given choice liva suits him best. He liked liva because of its cabin space, city drivability, minimal turbo lag, high speed stability better than swift but the only turnoff was its interiors.
After listening to him for quite a while I asked him, Did you drive fiat Punto ? :) He said no :confused:not interested in fiat at all, I asked why ? I don't feel Punto is worth giving a try, he said. I smiled sarcastically :) & said, they don't charge even a penny for test drive so whats harm in having a test drive, he exclaimed. Finally he went to have a casual look of punto and took a TD.
Booked punto on the very second day :) and now he is driving his punto with big grin & and tells every one, this is the car I always wanted to buy :)
I remember, I did not pursue him for punto, it was the product which convinced him to take the decision.

Wish him good luck with his bride :)

I use the easy way to convince friends to buy a fiat punto.

Plan a small trip with the person who is looking for a new car.

Tell him that i am very tired and if he can drive :D

This way i dont need to convince him at all.

Btw till now the count is 6

Another prospective buyer getting discouraged. A friend of mine booked for a TD of the new Tjet at Vecto Motors, Bangalore. After so many promises, last day one Mr Karthick finally called back saying he is bringing the vehicle at 3. And this guy waited for his call, which never happened and later called him back to hear that he could bring it the next day; and gave a time.
And the next day he(this firend of mine) schedules his meeting accordingly to test drive the vehicle. But nobody turns up nor nobody gives a call. In the end, bogged off, he calls up Vecto and says not to bring the vehicle...!!!

4 of my friends and office mates bought a Palio after I bought one. They used to asked me about performance and maintenance and I always had positive feedback for them. They did buy it after all. They bought 1 Palio s10, 2 Palio Elx, 1 Palio 1.2 sport.

For some reason my friend wanted to exchange his Fiesta for a hatch or mini SUVs like Duster / Eco Sport. He did test all the cars in the segment and then was convinced with Punto after seeing mine. He visited KHT to enquire about Punto and while stepping out, he had booked Linea Emotion Mjd :D :up

And for me, it was another moment of pride as a Fiat owner!

Couple of weeks back i got a phone call from someone asking me if owned a red punto and what is my feedback about the car. It turned out that this gentleman comes to the same church i go and noticed my ER punto MJD. He had gone to help his friend buy a car and they were at the Fiat dealer in Ahmedabad. After seeing and taking a TD, he decided to exchange his old Alto and go for a punto. Thats when he decided to take my phone number from my father-in-law, whom he knew. I was pleasantly surprised and proud to explain how punto is a class apart when compared to other hatchs. He also have his apprehensions about service and other things including clutch !! I dont know if there is any rumor or genuine issues with the punto clutch? I havent faced any issues so far with the clutch. He seemed convinced and was also impressed with the build quality of the punto. I havent heard from him, but am sure he and his friend has booked a punto each !
