Honda is coming back to the game with Honda City’s fourth-generation Models and may unveil the car in November this year. The one-time bestseller for Honda comes back with a diesel engine, boasts a fresh design, increased size and loaded with quite a lot of premium features. The new Honda City is scheduled for a Japanese launch this November at the Tokyo Motor Show. The Honda City is expected to embody the new "Exciting H Design" that was first seen on the new Jazz/Fit. The new City will use the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine which powers the current model while the diesel engine will come from the Amaze (the 1.5-litre i-DTEC). The Honda sedan will be modern-looking and quite sharp. The chrome detailing to the front will add the bling element. The car is likely to have a swooping roofline, which will bring in the sporty design. At the rear, the car will come with wrap around tail lights. City was the vehicle that cemented Honda’s foothold in the Indian market and has been quite popular as a mid-size sedan. While earlier petrol engine cars ruled the roost, the public has taken a liking to all things diesel now and that’s where Honda lost the race. But Honda Amaze has propelled it back into the game and Honda India is hoping to replicate the Amaze diesel’s success with the new Honda City and also eat into Hyundai Verna’s sales.

I think Honda may have a winner there for mass markets with their 1 litre 3cylinder baby. :)

It would be interesting to see Fiat bring out one from their closet.

The four-cylinder 1.5-litre unit that quotes 204PS and 260Nm -- Is this overkill for 1.5 with extreme engineering (Read FGT), or is it a marvel :)

1.5 Amaze Diesel mill with FGT able to extract more power, I am still searching for engine troubles but yet to see any cases.

Honda has a clear winner. With their dominance in petrol engines, turbo's will perform better than their competitors

Okay, this is only about engines, not as a overall product.
