The scene is no different here too and the most annoying fact is that at high beams with fog lamps on, damn don't even switch it off in the signals.. its so irritating for others, and now every new car has a lamp replacement with high powered ones even for the low beams.. why do we need them in city with well lit roads.. :A Earlier there was a Govt. rule to stick a black sticker or paint it black half on the headlamps to avoid accidents dont know why they removed that rule its no longer applicable now :rage

IMO, be courteous enough to switch your headlights to HI position first when you approach the opposing vehicle switch to LO position.
If the opposite driver also switches to LO beam if he/she was in HI beam, you'll get clear vision of the road on your side and any other vehicles behind him/her. Both can proceed smoothly.

My punto have done about 38K Kms out of which 30K Kms run is on highways and 10K Kms of night drives, after experiencing all this i have decided the intial position of HI beam(especially highways).Dont think about others(one needs to be selfish also), every1 think about their safer zone, so request you to be in safer zone and 'how to be' its individuals choice.

In many countries, esp in Europe, unwarranted high-beam usage can attract a fine by the traffic cops. Part of the solution for us should be about education and enforcement too!

Exactly, while part of the solution is to educate the drivers, rest is to provide better roads without potholes and adequate lighting within city limits at the least.

He means that , is we really nead High Beam in Bumper to Bumper traffic too??
Although , i think , High beam is must on highway ( if and only if ...Road Had Divider)
Otherwise Low beam+Fog is more than sufficient !!

There is no chance that i will drive with my high beam on in bumper to bumper traffic and that is why i did not understand the question.

I had mistaken this for the high beams in bumper to bumper traffic..:confused recently i asked a car behind me in the signal to put it to low beam only thing he could do is to switch off as it was already in low beam mode, he had upgraded his lamps.
